sorry no I don't, I have tried hooking my computer speakers to the green audio port, with no sucess. Just FYI, this also seemed to occur right after my sons connected xbox 360 to the TV to watch a movie. Prior to that all had be well, not sure if it is just timing or if something occurred to the sound card in that event.

  • tignorcw Mar 28, 2010

I there a way to change the audio card in this, or reinstall audio drivers? I really feel its a failed component as it was working one day not the next, just want to try and repair myself, if possible. or if this issue make the tv BER beyond economical repair.

  • tignorcw Mar 28, 2010

when I go to the menu, under audio settings, it has speakers on/off, volume control, equalizer, midnight mode, mute on/off, program = mono, stero, and surround sound on/off

  • tignorcw Mar 28, 2010

I have everything turned on, in the audio settings, I have a USB device, but I have no knowledge of a USB port on the TV, I have the documents for the TV but have no indication of a data port, there does appear to be a serial port (RS232) type not identified in the documentation. So, how do I get the driver repair to the TV?

  • tignorcw Mar 28, 2010

ok I will have to take the TV off the wall, I cannot see anything from the bottom...so let me do this a catch up to you later..this will take some time. I will contact you as soon as I get a clear look, thanks

no panel (FYI my Dell 42 plasma is 5yrs old) but I did locate me a stereo and hook up the red and white, and still no audio, still good video, no audio.

This is a fairly common problem we get in my shop, however this is unfortunately only a SYMPTOM, and NOT the CAUSE. The "Cause's" are many and varied. But generally NOT that costly to fix, unlike the Video section. Usually, the audio comes out of the Tuner, and goes through a few filters and is processed by an Audio power Amplifier,as such, there is not too much to the audio, so if it is a straight forward repair and at worst had to replace the Amp, and labor It usually runs out at may $65- $100.00 for the Amp and say $140 $175.00 for labor etc, but in saying that it also could be other things, and the cost can quickly escalate, It is my professional advise that you get the set looked at by a Dell Authorised Service Agent (Very Important) Ask for a "Quote" from them, and go from there.

Computer speakers in my DEll W4200 plasma TV

are you able to get sound on the other a/v components? hdmi, side audio, composite 1, composite 2 etc...? If sound, your audio amp is OK. Otherwise, its fried, disablling secondary audio source. TV needs to be open and audio amp board inspected. If burnt on bottom, there's your problem. Needs replaced

DELL 42" High Definition HD Plasma TV wi4201c hd

There are no real user serviceable parts in that TV. You could take it to a Repair shop and get an estimate for repair, but it is likely that you might end up getting a replacement for a lower cost. Most TV shops have a checkout fee ($25 to $75) generally. If the screen itself is not bad, then the repair cost shouldn't be too high (Logic board or such)
