Question about Hitachi 50V710 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
The LC47 UX23682D (DR and a few more) are replacements .. the LC57 is NOT the correct engine for the 50V710.. The Engines do vary from about $450 to over $1000.. the original is the most expensive but Hitachi seem to have produced variants to fix this very common problem. There is a class action suit in progress for another model with the same issue. It seems to stem from filters on the engine getting clogged and causing the engine to overheat. Pete

You should be able to call Hitachi at 1800-Hitachi
and they should be able to tell you if that part number
is accurate. I am always a little leary of doing business with companies that claim to have parts and are not a Authorize Parts retailers for the manufactured part I am seeking. If they have a good return policy, they are probably ok.
