Hi,
MAY BE THERES A PROBLEM WITH YOUR POWER SUPLLY TRY TO GET A NEW POWER
SUPPLY, IF THERES NOTHING HAPPEN MAY BE YOUR BOARD HAS THE DEFECT.
One of the minitek technician suggested this method you can try it out:
With the power turned off, open the
lid and then open the hatch where you put the DVD into. Locate the
laser lens and notice that the laser lens is attached to an assembly
that moves diagonally outward in a slot. First, slide this assembly
outward. Second, slide it back inward. Now repeat, slide out then back
in. Next, put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. (This
re-calibrates the laser head assembly movement.) When the music CD is
done playing, put in a DVD, and amazingly, you'll have a working unit
again.
Now coming to the disc reading problem you can call the toll free no.of minitek (866-709-9500)
they will help you fix this if the above method doesnot work..
Goodluck..
Does it have a lock button like an Ipod? A small awitch somewhere that disables all controls? You might also check the poinjt where the AC/DC adapter plugs in, there may be a switch that chooses the battery or input power.
