Mintek MDP-1760 The dvd player wont turn on? The green light is on ,when I turn it on .When I open it up ,no dvd spins and the screen remains black.Like its getting no power to it or something? Can you help please? On my particular dvd player I have the same problem. I turn it on and the green light comes on. Then I put in a DVD and close the DVD compartment, if you listen closely you can heir it spinning inside. But neither the screen or speakers work. So I took of the top of the screen because I thought something could be diconnected. But when I looked around, the speakers are definatly not dissconnected (or at least not directly at the speaker). So because of that I think that there could be a dissconnection further down the line from where the power source connects up to the screen and speakers but I am not sure.

Hi,

MAY BE THERES A PROBLEM WITH YOUR POWER SUPLLY TRY TO GET A NEW POWER SUPPLY, IF THERES NOTHING HAPPEN MAY BE YOUR BOARD HAS THE DEFECT.

One of the minitek technician suggested this method you can try it out:
With the power turned off, open the lid and then open the hatch where you put the DVD into. Locate the laser lens and notice that the laser lens is attached to an assembly that moves diagonally outward in a slot. First, slide this assembly outward. Second, slide it back inward. Now repeat, slide out then back in. Next, put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. (This re-calibrates the laser head assembly movement.) When the music CD is done playing, put in a DVD, and amazingly, you'll have a working unit again.

Now coming to the disc reading problem you can call the toll free no.of minitek (866-709-9500)
they will help you fix this if the above method doesnot work..

Goodluck..

Does it have a lock button like an Ipod? A small awitch somewhere that disables all controls? You might also check the poinjt where the AC/DC adapter plugs in, there may be a switch that chooses the battery or input power.
