If it is clicking while a pilot is present, the sensor or ignitor box is not sensing the flame. If it stops clicking as soon as a pilot is present, the spark may not be hot enough to ignite the gas or the gas may be slightly low on it's flow amount. don't over look the obvious, such as the oven being exposed to drafts which blows out the flame.
Hope this helps.

I have a 16 year old GE XL44 which has a manual turn clock that keeps buzzing. My husband stopped it, but it is going off again. The manuals I am finding on-line have electric clocks which we don't have....

Greetings,
Remove the power from the stove to prevent shock..remove rear access panal and locate clock....there will be a small motor attached to the clock..cut the wire going to the clock motor and tape....there are other ways, but this is easiest to explain..the clock will not be working after this...or, you can have your clock rebuilt or replaced with a current digital clock

Igniters will not stop clicking.

Hi

Thanks for using FIxYa.The igniter doesn't stop clicking due to a short inside the igniter circuit or due to moisture present on the ignition switch.Turn off the gas supply immediately and also unplug it from the mains power. Now take a blower or your hair dryer and blow hot air over the igniter. Also check for the following troubleshooting steps---

1) The gap between the igniter and the burner base is too large. *Should be approximately the thickness of two dimes.

2) Soiled igniter or burner base.

The above can be tested by switching the suspected burner with a known operating burner.

3) Loose wiring connections at the igniter, the grounding strap, or spark module.

4) Broken or pinched igniter wire between the burner and module.

Both of the above are physical inspections under the main top.

5) The module may have a week coil, which is not providing sufficient voltage to ignite the gas.

Even after performing these steps the igniter doesn't stop clicking then you need to replace the spark module.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Sounds like one of the control knobs got stuck or shorted in the start cycle. Can you get access to the inside where you can see each of the control knobs? Look for wiring and unplug one at a time. This may help you figure which one is shorted.
