Hi,
When the microwave won't heat, but you hear a loud buzz, you usually have a defective power diode, high-voltage capacitor, or magnetron. Also
usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven.

RE: Samsung microwave SMH7187STG mfg'd 5/08. I heated cup of tea 2 min. Then I closed micro's door & micro emitted a continuous electrical buzzing sound.I opened door & buzzing stopped.

The cook relay on your control board is shorted, and the unit is cooking whenever you close the door.

When the magnetron overheats, its thermostat opens, shutting power down until the unit cools to a safe level, then power is restored.

I regularly repair these with my $54.95 service, which includes insured return shipping.

Details are here, or for full information and instructions, please e-mail me here at [email protected] and remind me of your full model number and symptoms.

FMV152KWA microwave buzzes when not running

Missy Uhland Bauman,

I understand that you are hearing a buzzing noise from your microwave, even though the door is shut and and it is not running. I would suggest to give the appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power off at the circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. After the 3-5 minutes, bring power back. If you are still hearing a buzzing sound, I suggest either contacting the manufacturer or your local authorized technician.

-Best Regards-

Sharp microwave kb-6002ls making buzzing noise

Someone would have to open the unit to "hear" where it is coming from, possible fan issue or even the power unit inside.

Loud buzzing sound then no power at all

It's probably the magnetron burning up. Residential microwaves, if not under warranty, are generally considered disposible. Parts and labor are just too expensive.

No Power at all after loud short buzzing sound

sounds Like an electrical fault in the Micro, Sorry but this is broken.... If this is within warranty (do check as some warrantys are for 3 yrs or more) get the manufacturer to replace/repair it for free. you could get it serviced, but it is probably cheaper to buy a new one.
