TFT -LCD Samsung LT-P227W

Have a Samsung LT-P227W that all of a sudden went off and will not turn on back, if you disconnet it from the wall for 30 seconds and reconnect it turns on for a second and immediately goes back off. Seems like its locked. Any advise?

I have samsung LT-P227W TFT-LCD Television. My TV will not come on when the power button is depressed. However, when I unplug from the wall, wait, and plug it back in, the red indicator light on the front blinks twice, the tone chimes upward (as it does everytime it powers up), the screen flashes a dim light then goes black. I select diffent video modes and the menu but the screen remains black. Any suggestions?

This TV will go into "sleep" mode. Make sure it is receiving a signal or it will go black. If you hit the menu key when it powers up the display should stay on menu while you attempt to secure a signal from another source.

Does anyone know how turn turn off the annoying and loud power up and down chimes?

I have a 50" plasma

I can say from experience that it will. The plug type may be a little different, but the tv should be rated for 50-80Hz and you will be fine. For the plug you can just get an adaptor.

Please rate if this helps! :D

Menu Mode

PRESS THE DTV / TV BUTTON TO GET TO THE MENU MODE.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

Change the vertical frequency to 60HZ on Samsung LT-P 227W

I'm sorry to say that this LCD is for Standard NTSC, HD-ready, PC-ready only and will not work in Europe unless you can get some NTSC signal. There is not way to change the internal settings because you will also need to change the tuner and many other parts. At this point the cheaper solution will be to buy a multisystem LCD that will work with PAL and NTSC signals.

The unit will not power up. I tried using a different power cord to see if the old cord was bad. A small red light turned on for afew seconds, I heard some beeping, then the red light went out.

Take it back to the store you bought it from.
contact Samsung about this model. and politely demand a recall/file class action claim, or for the manufacturer to describe this model as a 1-3year disposable LCD TV

No Power

This set has two boards in it, not including the panel which has the ballast attached. The power supply creates the voltage, one of the voltages may be missing. If the power supply is working correctly, then, the problem may be in the main. The main is the control of the set. On an LCD set, this problem seems to be easy to diagnose, but, it could be any of the three circuits that cause it.
