I am assuming you have the 3G or 3Gs. It might be just minor water damage by you touching it with wet fingers or it might be the Module it self that has gone bad. Also it can be the connection part to the main board. For this one you can check the connection yourself by opening the 2 screws at the buttom and pull the LCD/Digitizer off. Watch some youtube videos to learn what you are doing. Then check the connection. Howeve For replacement of the module or water damage cleaning you might want to take it to a repair location as you might break the LCD or Digitizer if you don't know what you are doing

Try turning it off at the power switch, leave off for several seconds then switch it back on, it may reset the control unit, if not take it to a repair outlet,

does your phone have the unresponsive touch screen? if it occurs, try this. Take your fingernail and run it along the screen and the plastic housing. Push hard as you do it, and it will free up the screen. This has happened to me as well. and my phone's working now. this was a solution given by mephisto250 on youtube. :)

My iphone went dead. I hung up from a call and then went to use it again - dead. Plugged in for 1/2 hour and still no juice. Is there a reset button?

Charge your iPhone overnight. If that does not work, try the following resets:

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for 10 seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
  4. More resets:

Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

I have plugged an extended battery to my iphone - while I was downloading information - Iphone and battery went dead after a while. Now plugging in the Iphone it seems dead - not even itunes see the phone

It's starting to sound like the phone may very well be bricked. Holding down the power button and home button was the first thing that came to mind, so it's too bad that didn't work.

Not all hope is lost, though. You can try and see if somehow you can get the phone in DFU mode, even though it is unresponsive. Follow the directions here. They even have a video to help, which is really helpful, as timing is key with DFU. The only thing you'll be doing is acting as though the iPhone is currently on like in the video, even though yours is not.

If that doesn't work, unfortunately, you may need to make a claim with the extended battery manufacturer and try talking to Apple. The battery company has it in their best interest to fix your situation in an effort to keep you, their customer, happy. Hopefully they see it that way!

Unlocked Iphone reset

Holding down the Power and Home buttons to do a hard reset will not harm your phone. You will lose the call you're on though. I am having the same issue where I'm on a call and after I'm done have a hard time getting the display to turn back on. Usually hitting Home a million times works, but so will a hard reset. Failing that, call up Apple to see if they can look at it/replace it.

Frozen tomtom go 910

Hi, Not a nice problem that. Try connecting your tomtom to PC ( not through home ) so the tomtom will look like a USB drive in "My Computer". if TomTom Home tries to load up , cancel it. Look in "My Compuer" If you do see the TomTom as a drive , open it up and copy the folders and files to your PC. If that works, now you have a backup and you can have a mess around knowing that if you mess things up , at least you can put things back as they were and you won't have made anything worse than it was before. Once thats done , try a harder reset in normal way but also hold the ON button in whilst doing the reset . Many people press too hard on the reset button and also hold it too long so just give one single press , only hard enough to feel it click in , then out. Thats all it needs for a reset and it avoide damaging the switch ( yes , I have seen many reset switched stuck in or broken ). I think theres 2 possible causes for your problem . 1/ You now have a corrupted file on your TomTom preventing the boot-up continuing. 2/ Your Tomtom is still trying to perform the last function ( backing up through TomTom-home ) and has somehow got stuck in that loop. For the moment , try the above and see how you get on and if you donn't solve it please post on this forum again .

Good luck .

Send button not working!

My phone started to do this too! and somehow i accidentally discovered that if i pressed the actual screen (not touched, pushed, not too too hard, but not just touching!) somewhere around the middle, maybe slightly down a little bit, it served as the send button. I dunno if this is a ransom thing my phone does, but it might do the same with yours! Just trying to help you out.
