Upon reading that installation document again, I don't think the WAN ports on the expansion module distribute Ethernet to the telecom ports. It looks like the WAN ports just act as an extension cable, where the data entering the left/"IN" punch-down is routed to the right/"OUT" punch-down via a bridge between the two adjacent (unlabeled) RJ45 jacks.

I think Ethernet can be distributed using this module to each outlet by connecting the router output to the "Line In" port on the telecom module. I'm going to try this and will post my results.

Have you made any progress on this issue? I'm about to embark on a similar project in hooking up broadband to my telecom hub with WAN.

I've found this document (IS-0172_B.pdf), which suggests that you just need to hook it up to the left punch-down outlet, as you've discovered, but also requires a proper hook-up to the bridged telecom module, with all pins set to on.

It looks like the telecom module won't work for what we're trying to use it for. Take a look at this thread, which describes the reasons why.

How do I get my OnQ F1003 to work with comcast?

Comcast needs to get information regarding the codes used by the hardware. You need to contact the company via Tel. and get their service center. Tell them about the equipment you want to use. If it is Compatible with their equipment they can make the connection for you. In some cases the devices used on other systems may not work on thier system.

I want to know if i can use my netgear wndr 3300 wireless router in conjunction with the telstra 2 wire gateway

Yes, you can definately configure your WNDR3300 to work with Telestra gateway modem. Perform the below steps to reconfigure your WNDR3300 with your Telestra gateway:

1. Connect a Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN port of the router (isolated port).
2. Connect the computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports. Please make sure that there is no direct connection between the modem and the computer (either using Ethernet cable or USB cable).
3. Power off the modem and the router after making the connections.
4. Power on the modem and wait for the lights, then power on the router.

1. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router, usually with or
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on 'Basic settings' from the left menu and select 'Use Computers MAC Address' from 'router MAC Address' section.
5. Click Apply.
6. Once it updates the settings then power off the modem and the router. Power on the modem and wait for the lights, then power on the router.

Hope this allows you to resolve the issue.

The wan port is what you hook your modem to. Wan stands for Wide Area Network, which in your case is the internet. Your house with your 2 pc's and networking equipment would be considered a Lan, local area network.

The 4 ports on the router are switch ports, when you hook the modem up to the switch instead of the wan port the modem will only allow traffic from one physical, (MAC) address to pass through, this is why only one of your pc's can access the internet. The wan port on the router has its own MAC address, so the modem will associate with the wan port and trust all traffic that comes from that port.

Finally, after you have connected the modem to the wan port, pull the power cord on the modem then plug it back in to reset it, this will force the modem to orient with the wan port.

WAN 2 dissconnects

Try check with your subnets, if your subnet on your SBS is the same as your Xincom configuration and both your SBS and XIncom is acting as a DHCP server, it might cause a conflict.
