Lenovo Y410 Integrated webcam not working
It was working fine , but not any more. I get a message No camera or Camera activated. Please help.

I use a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop loaded with Vista SP1 and have the same problem with integrated webcam. It doesnt show up in device manager, none of the programs recognize it. I tried installing the driver from HP many times, that dint help either.
There is no Fn+Esc combo for toggling cam on/off in HP. I would be greatful if somebody could help.

If the Y410 is like my Y510 then it is possibly one of two things.
1. If the computer goes into "sleep" mode, the camera may not come back online when it wakes up. A restart will obviously fix this.
2. Does your keyboard have a Fn key assigned to the ESC key that will toggle the camera ON/OFF? If so, give that a try.

Hi thanks man....it worked.....i tried to install drivers and when i launch the camera application it said camera not initialised....
now after trying Fn+ESC key camera is invoked and it is working...

Hi guys... i got it fixed.. actually i have been browsing few other forums and the problem is with firewall settings.. yahoo cannot support any firewalls.. so i had to disable windows firewall, disable norton antivirus for yahoo msgr and then had to disable my internet connection service provider firewall.. then it worked fine. I know this is no safety to my computer, but i disable this only when i want to use my webcam, everyother time i keep my firewall safety settings high.

the camera is IN the computer but it's not working, it says it's not there...but that's sort of impossible if the camera is attached to the computer
