Hi,

This is due to some issues with the ink head on your cartridge. Try to put a few drops of rubbing alcohol to help soften the ink .Next fill with some hot water so it covers the print head area and let it stand for a few minutes. This will loosen any jammed ink particles. Rub it gently with a paper towel. Next install and hope that it recognizes it without a problem. If it still sees a problem you could try a reset by powering down, unplug, hold # and 6, plug in and power. Let us know if you were looking for something more else please accept the suggestion.

Message on printer screen says "The following printhead(s) has a problem: black/yellow (K/Y).

Hi,

This probably could be defective Printhead ( black/yellow )

Follow the steps below and it should resolve the issue, if not, you need to replace the K/Y Printhead. You can purchase it from any nearest departmental store like bestbuy or costco or walmart etc or Call HP and order one.

Open the front access door. ( printer must be power on )
Remove the Latch of the Printheads
Remove the Printhead
Clean the Contacts with lint free cloth ( golden contacts or electrical contacts / not the nozzles )
Re-install the Printhead back in its position and close the front access door.
The printer usually goes thru initialization process. or Turn off the printer and turn on.
If you still get the error message, Replace the K/Y Printhead.

Regards,
Ron

My ESP 5 doesn't print the yellow color, or the black for b/w documents. Have done "clean printer nozzles" many many times, also alignment, etc.

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.

Light yellow horizontal lines on C522

Remove the supplies and clean the yellow printhead. For instructions on how to clean the printheads, click on this link: http://bit.ly/bCoz92. Just follow the instructions. If that doesn't help, might need replacement. If issue remains after printhead has been cleaned and the supply has been replaced, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance. Thanks.

My HP officejet Pro L7580 says the printhead has a problem

Re-insert the print cartridges. It is also possible that the heads are burnt. Get a new set of print heads (black/yellow) and install to the printer. If problem persists, clean the contacts on the printers. Use acetone + cotton swabs.

The following printhead(s) has a problem Black/Yellow[K/Y].

Simple solution is:

Replace the Black and Yellow Print Catridges. The print heads are mounted to the bottom of the catridges and these, depending on whther they're from HP or not. can have a hard time conducting electricity properly, and in turn.. spitting ink out properly.

Also happens often with aftermarket Catridges because HP puts chips on the catridge. be sure to put an HP catridge. Sometimes you get what you pay for :)
