Question about Eagle Fishelite 502c Igps Fish Finder Combo

1 Answer

The plug going into the back of my Eagle 350c got hot and partially melted. It still works now but for how long I don't know. Can I splice a new plug in or do I have to buy a whole new transducer?

Well, if it is still working ok now with the partially melted plug, then the transducer itself sounds like it is fine... Attach a new plug and it should all work the same (just with a nice new plug).

Also make sure your power supply to the Fish Finder is properly fused.

I have a jeep grand cherokee 2003 4.7l I had a engine overall but they forgot to plug in the ABS sensor plug the plug from the module melted on the exhaust now it show a fault .What can I check

It's going to show a fault because the harness wasn't connected. You said it got melted. You need to get a new harness and cut off the old one and splice the new one in. Then connect the new one to abs module

What would cause a fuse to blow out as soon as the battery is plugged in?

If problem on wiring circuit somewhere, replacing the parts won't fix it. If fuse 17--10 amp that fuse circuit is hot all the time. You have a short. Disconnect the wiring connector from generator, does the circuit still go to ground. Instead of blowing your fuses, use a test light across the fuse terminals, if the lite comes on, the circuit is still going to ground. Some don't like to use test lite for that test, but, anyway.
Could be problem with fuse box or the wire circuit from fuse to generator. Make sure generator wire connector doesn't show any signs of heating/melting or anything.
If you think the problem is the white wire with black tracer, you might leave a pigtail wire at both ends, hopefully the pigtails are good, then splice in a new wire for testing. If that fixes it, then make the new splices permanent and route the new wire properly.

My Toro power blower vac plug got so hot and burned the inside of the extension cord so it melted onto it.

Obviously, that power cord is now shot. But, if you are pretty handy and very confident, simply splice the cord. Make sure you hook up the wires to the correct ones and plug it in make sure it is all electrical tape back together so the wires have absolutely no chance of touching each other, and if that does not work, I would say that there is a defect with the Toro

Need wiring diagram of rear-window defogger circuit for 2008 Chevy Impala LT

i just fixed my car to the exact question above, it took 20 minutes total. yes I\'m good with a wrench, but this fix doesn\'t reqire you to be.

Problem: Rear defroster doesn\'t work, but the fuse is good and the little light comes on on the button.

Answer: Go to front passenger kick panel where the "other" fise box is and remove the pastic panel, it just pops straight up. Under the fuse block is a white plug that connects front wire harness to the rear harness. this is where the problem is. pull the connector off the body, my plugslide straight back. Now flip the whole connector over, there you\'ll see the burnt spot on the plug. losse, corroded connection causes melt down. this stuff happens. my car has a purple wire going into the plug and a black one coming out, this is the rear defroster wire. cut the purple wire aleast a half inch before the plug and cut the black one coming out of the plug the same, always leave a little wire incase you ever want to reuse that terminal, standard rule. now take two butt connectoers and a four inch piece of ten gauge and splice the purple and black wires back together. lots of current so DO NOT use 12-14 gauage wire, it will melt. and Wa-La, its fixed!! since you dont have to do the trouble shooting and chase down the wires like i did, should take you ten minutes to fix.

Now if this doesn\'t fix your car, then don\'t pay me!!

If this DOES fix your car, then take your wife out to dinner with the $150.00 i just saved you from having to take it to the dealer,

(they would sale you new connectors and harness)

My above ground filter is 20 years old. The plug from the motor just last year started to melt and the outlet also has a melted spot. What could be the cause?

Resistance is the cause. All heated material needs to be replaced. Cut back the wiring until you get to wire that has ZERO heat damage. Splice in at this point. This is a common issue. You just have to cut back until good material, and splice in replacement plug and outlet components.

Vents blowing hot air when blower is shut off, my truck has always pushed air through the vents when in drive and could control whether it was hot or cold, now they just push out hot air, would it be a...

You have a faulty blower motor resistor and wiring harness assembly. It's a common problem on these trucks. You will find it under the dash on the passenger side just above where the passengers feet go. You'll need to remove the plastic hush cover under the dash to gain access to it. It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes and is quite easy to splice in the new one. The dealer will have an upgraded replacement kit. Use a bit of di-electric grease on the splices and new plugs to prevent corrosion and another failure. Don't put off fixing it because the wiring is overheated and getting fried. Some of these have caught fire if not fixed. The dealer will know just what you need. They sell lots of these. The one in my Chevy went bad last winter.

Iway 350c GPS battery

I don't know if this is the recommended way. Hold the unit facing you and look at the top of the unit. There is a seam about ¼” from the front. I simply used a small jewelers screwdriver and inserted it at the top of the unit about 1" from the side. I lifted the front section a little bit. It released one of six tabs that hold the face plate in place (two on top and two on each side). Repeat the same step on the other side then the sides. When you remove the face plate the silver on/off button will fall out, but don’t worry about that. Here is the tricky part. It has four star screws holding the back of the case to the electronics unit. I took a trip to the local Harbor Freight store and bought a star wrench set for $3.99. Remove the four screws and presto you can take the back casing right off. The batteries are at the bottom, but I can’t find any info on what type they are, so I don’t know what to replace them with, at least not yet.
