Some stainless steel has enough iron in it to be slightly magnetic. not all stainless steel is truly non magnetized.

I got a 10 KT acutron it says its plated but a magnet don't stick to parts of it.is there any solid Gold pieces on it. It also says n9

N9 is the date, 1969.

Magnets will only stick to iron and steel (ferrous metals). Gold is none ferrous, stainless steel usually is non ferrous, as it has a nigh nickel content.

No matter what pot we use, it wont work

Most cookware found found in home today is aluminum or cast aluminum. These do not work on induction cook tops. Even older stainless steel Farberware doesn't work because it is not magnetic. Look for an induction compatible label or stamp on the cookware to be sure.
Induction cookware must be made of a magnetic-based material, such as cast iron or magnetic stainless steel. Fully clad cookware brands, such as All-Clad Stainless, Le Creuset Stainless Steel and Mauviel M'cooks stainless work on induction cooktops because they're magnetic.

What is the name or number of nonmagnetic stainlessteel ?

It is commonly stated that "stainless steel is non-magnetic". This is not strictly true and the real situation is rather more complicated. The degree of magnetic response ormagnetic permeabilityis derived from the microstructure of the steel. A totally non-magnetic material has a relative magnetic permeability of 1. Austenitic structures are totally non-magnetic and so a 100% austenitic stainless steel would have a permeability of 1. In practice this is not achieved. There is always a small amount of ferrite and/or martensite in the steel and so permeability values are always above 1. Typical values for standard austenitic stainless steels can be in the order of 1.05 - 1.1. SeeComposition effects on the magnetic permeability of austenitic stainless steels
It is possible for the magnetic permeability of austenitic steels to be changed during processing. For example, cold work and weldingare liable to increase the amount of martensite and ferrite respectively in the steel. A familiar example is in a stainless steel sink where the flat drainer has little magnetic response whereas the pressed bowl has a higher response due to the formation of martensite particularly in the corners.
In practical terms, austenitic stainless steels are used for "non-magnetic" applications, for example magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In these cases, it is often necessary to agree a maximum magnetic permeability between customer and supplier. It can be as low as 1.004.

I hope this helps you

KitchenAid - Is it real Stainless Steel?

The fridge freezers are called stainless steel but it is a term that is used more for marketing than an actual statement of what they are made of, the grade of stainless steel they use is very very low grade and the manufacturers of the appliances coat the steel with a protective clear coat to stop corrosion. This is why it is magnetic.

If my Kitchen Aid KSF26C6XYY00 door is in fact made of stainless steel, why do fridge magnets stick to it? Ohter people I know that have stainless steel fridges say that the magnets do not stick to t

Stainless steel is a term for a family of high chromium steels, some of which do in fact stain, although they do not rust as ordinary steel does.

The more expensive 'austenitic' stainless is non-magnetic, but harder to work into product shapes. 'Martensitic' stainless is a little more prone to staining and corrosion, but easier to work with, and is magnetic. Then 'ferritic' stainless is even cheaper, but less corrosion proof, and is also magnetic.

So yes, many stainless steels are magnetic, and if the manufacturer has not used the very most corrosion proof but expensive grade, then you will see it in that way. I would not see much reason for a fridge door to be made from austenitic stainless.

The door is getting rusty. I believed that stainless steal didn't rust. Is there a way I can remove the spots?

Normally these appliances use brushed steel which gives a stainless steel look.

Get a magnet and run it on the sheet. If it sticks then it definitely is not stainless steel.
However, with wear and tear stainless steel surface does break down causing rust to start.

To remove rust go to this site.

Finish on "stainless steel" door is deteriorating

Refrigerator was sold as 'stainless steel', but is not, a magnet won't stick to it.
There are many different alloys that are called 'stainless' steel but all of them have some chrome, some nickel and some steel. Depending on the strength of the magnet and the specific alloy, it may or may not adhere. Generally, the higher chrome and nickel content, the less magnetic it will be.
I think that the brushed surface of your fridge was coated with a kind of clear-coat to prevent fingerprints from adhereing to the brushed surface and that clear-coat is now missing in the areas of concern.
The only cure for tha would be the wholesale removal of the doors and the remaining clear finish and then respraying it with a quality clear finsh.
Ain't progress grand?
We considered all stainless stuff for our new home a couple of years ago, decided we liked black better and now hate that too.

Amama 2.0 Cu ft. Radarange Microwave model# UXA3036BAB

This model does not list Stainless Steel as a feature. Stainless Steel is used in the interior (CAVITY) of a Microwave if it is a Combination Convection/Microwave Oven. The Convection Oven can reach temperatures of 400+ degreesF. This Temperature would MELT the paint off a painted interior.
Stainless Steel can be tested with a Magnet. It will not be attracted or "Stick" to Stainless.
Hope this answers your concerns!
Thanks!

Stainless steel?

There are many (>100) standard stainless steel alloys. The most commonly used stainless steel alloys in appliances are "austenitic" - these have a higher chromium content and added nickel. The nickel modifies the physical structure of the steel and makes it non-magnetic.

Maytag MZD2766GES Side by Side Refrigerator

Not actual stainless steel or the magnets wouldn't stick then all those frige magnet companies would go out of business. Maytag should make a cleaner/protector spray or something that will clean that up. Even the DIY stores like Home Depot or Lowes, etc. should have that type of cleaner. Naval Jelly can work but test in on a spot that won't show in case it stains the finish more than helps remove the rust. And yes, that would be cosmetic issue not a warranty item usually BUT read the extended warranty yourself to see if there is a loophole!
