Printing blank page

Have recently installed a new set of inks in my brother DCP110C. The 3 colours are working fine but the black ink fails to print despite cleaning the print heads over and over again. What can the problem be? I installed a new Brother black cartridge, but I get a blank page when I try to print. I can print colours but not black. Help

Make sure you removed the top tab to let air in(probably did.)
Remove the cartridge and make sure the plastic on the
bottom got punctured when you installed it,and the little
piece of plastic isn't caught in the ink port.

Another possibility is that, maybe your head cleaning pump is not working.Check also for clogged
head.Put some "FLUSH" in an injection tube ,remove black cartridge, very carefully put the tube hole in the pin and absolutely slow try to put
some quantity of flush inside. If you can do that it's mean that head is
    not clogged

If none of these work it means an internal mechanical defect in your printer. I would take the assistance of tech if this is the case.

Hi! Did you try a different color cartridge? The possibility of a faulty cartridge cannot be ruled out..

Try this to reset the toner count first:

open front cover, press options and start key.

If that doesn't fix it, try this:

1. press the Menu & Mono start keys. next press the up arrow key 4 times to make the machine enter the maintenance mode.

2. Enter 8 & 0 by using the up arrow key & SET keys.

3. press the mono start key several times untill the purge count appears on the LCD.

4. enter 2 7 8 & 3 by using the up arrow key & set keys to reset the purge count to zero

5. press the stop/exit key to return to the initial stage of the maintanance mode.

6. enter 9 twice by using the up arrow & set key's to exit from maintenance mode

Good luck!

Ok here are a few things to try first, if they fail to work, reply here with the results and we can work from there..

1.) remove the cartridge and blot it on tissue paper to ensure it has ink..

2.) go to the printer preferences
Start / All Programs / Printers and Faxes,,
Right Clik on the printer and click properties

YOUR PRINTER SETTINGS MAY VERY FROM HERE BUT ITS BASICALLY THE SAME PRINCIPAL AND YOU WILL FIND THE FEATURES JUST PROBERALLY IN ANOTHER LOCATION

Click Printing Preferences then maintenance
Click Cartridge settings
Ensure its set to print from both black and color cartridge..

Just find the settings and make sure its set to print from both cartridges..

Let me know how that plays off and we can work from there...
but that should work..

The black ink on my Brother DCP-130C won't print and it's a brand new ink cartridge. I thought it was a defected cartridge so I bought another one, same thing. The other 3 colours print ok though....

I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

Changed new ink but when i print, the pages come out blank with no ink. Printing motion takes place but some how the ink done not reach the paper.

I had the same problem with my DCP 165.It simply wouldnt print. The paper was coming out but it was Blank.I had changed all the cartridges so there was no obvious issue with the ink. Then I printed a test page.It printed all the colour blocks except the black. Then i found out from Brother website that it was a problem with cleaning and after seeral cleaning cycles the printer worked fine. STEPS 1>ink management 2>Cleaning 3>Black or colour 4>OK Repeat the above process several times and try printing after that...Hope it works

Black ink will not print (new out of box).

If cleaning doesn't work you should talk to your retailer or Brothers support. Don't think they can expect you to use up all ink cleaning cartridges when the machine is straight out of the box..

Using far too much ink

This came from brothers website:

The Yellow ink cartridge yield is up to 300 pages @ 600 x 150 dpi when printing at 5% coverage on A4 sized paper.
The Magenta ink cartridge yield is up to 300 pages @ 600 x 150 dpi when printing at 5% coverage on A4 sized paper.
The Cyan ink cartridge yield is up to 300 pages @ 600 x 150 dpi when printing at 5% coverage on A4 sized paper.
The Black ink cartridge yield is up to 350 pages @ 600 x 150 dpi when printing at 5% coverage on A4 sized paper.

so it appears that what you are experiencing is not normal and you may have a leaking printer.

There is one thing you can check though, everytime you print, make sure that you are not printing at the highest quality option selectable as this almost certainly will fire out more ink than regular printing... choose a middle quality option or even draft option if you will be printing regular text.
