First place to look will be power supply, look for caps with bulging top first, report back what you see so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Magic chef dryer making very loud noise as it turns, how to get the bottom off

No need to take the bottom off - the top, front, and back come off - if the noise is a rather high pitched squeak the pads on the drum are worn out, if it sounds like a squeak but more metallic/raspy sound check the motor bearings, also check the drive belt.

My Asko font loader is 9 years old. just lately it has been making a high pitch squeaking type of noise each time the machine is turning during the washing cycle. It did this in the first six months of...

Hello, as far as your unit makeing a high pitched squeaking noise you would have to remove the top panel of the machine by unscrewing the 2-3 screws along the back upper part of the machine. You would then slide the panel towards the rear of the machine and then remove the panel from the machine. After you did this you would then run the machine and try to distinguish if the noise was being made from the main bearing in the unit which holds the inner and outter tub together. Or if the noise were coming from the motor in the unit. Most of the time when someone does describe a high pitched noise that is described like a jet taking off when the unit goes into the spin cycle this would tend to point towards a main bearing issue with the unit. To replace a main bearing in a washer is a very costly and long proces if done by a technician and most do decide not to fix the unit due to this. On the other hand if it were a motor noise that you were hearing or a pulley noise which on some is located on the back of the tub these are much less costly repairs as well as less time consuming. If you have any other questions message me back. I await your reply
Thank you,
Rick

Dryer makes a high pitch squeaking noise

This could be a dry support bearing, a dried out drum seal or something stuck in the drum seal. If I could hear it I would know better where to start. Listen and try to locate the source from the above list. It could be the belt but that is not as common.

High pitched noise from inside the TV when picture comes on

Hello randapaint,

This might be from the IHVT (Integrated High Voltage Transformer), or more specifically a short in the IHVT causing it to arc, producing the high pitched whine, you are hearing. Take the back off of the TV and try to detect where the sound is coming from, more then likely you will notice it coming from the section that contains a large component with a large red cable coming from it, to the top of the CRT (picture tube). Replace the IHVT (with the exact same model) if it is bad.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

High Pitched Noise on TV

THIS NOISE IS NORMAL. IS THE DEGAUSING COIL

Sep 16, 2007 | Televison & Video

Squeak

The high pitch squeal you hear is usually caused by a coil vibrating, normally in the horizontal circuit. I've also seen the ferrite bead on the horizontal output transistor do this, but, it is rare. I normally will repair this by finding the coil and "tightening" it. To tighten a coil, technicians use different chemicals, such as, a hot glue gun, rubber silicone or even finger nail polish. I will find the coil that screams by starting with the usual suspects and using a wooden dowel, barely touch the coil and if the pitch of the noise changes, then, thats the coil that needs repaired. If you do not know your way around the inside of a television, I never recommend you do so, since, this procedure must be done with the set turned on and you poke your hands around the inside of the set by the high voltage circuit. Hope this helps your decision.
