Question about Philips 51PW9303 51" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Picture is dim and blurry

I have a 51 in phillips rear projection tv it is about 5 years old and just recently the picture seems dim and blurry. I also noticed a bright spot on the left side of the screen.

The screen probably needs to be degaussed, which will require either a degausser or a technician. Try turning the television off, and then unplugging it from the wall outlet. Then replug after 30 seconds and turn it back on. Also, try plugging any cables from a cable or satellite box into another set of in-ports on the back. If the problem persists, the screen needs to be degaussed.

Thats caused by a convergence failure. The Sony type 1 convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com will usually correct that issue the kit contains the components and the CD with repair instructions so you can repair yourself.

quite possible that the coolant is getting contaminated as thats a normal occurance with phillips after a few years. If the color seems dim and not focusing properly its almost certain that the CRT coolant will need changing

ok this is how u fix that problem it is a heat issue what u need is a can of 50 below freez u can use this on the circuit to find witch part is breaking down i dont think u will have a problem in the power supply it sounds like something in the video circuit that is causeing the problem. i hope this hp marty
