In the e-mail from fixya, there should be two links, one is to the problem string, the other is to the latest comment from the customer. alternatively, once logged in, you can see all your solutions on your profile page.

I want to recall a message after it is sent in MS Outlook 2007

Hi,
Please find your answer below:
If you have Microsoft Exchange account as you said, you can manage to do that. Because, this feature requires you to use a Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, Exchange Server 2003, or Exchange Server 2007 account.

The recipient of the e-mail message that you want to recall must also be using an Exchange account. You can’t recall a message sent, for example, to someone's personal Internet service provider (ISP)
(ISP: A business that provides access to the Internet for such things as electronic mail, chat rooms, or use of the World Wide Web. Some ISPs are multinational, offering access in many locations, while others are limited to a specific region.) POP3 (POP3: A common protocol that is used to retrieve e-mail messages from an Internet e-mail server.) e-mail account.

For all recipients who haven't opened the message yet, you can perform an e-mail sleight of hand and replace the original message with another one that contains the attachment.

To Recall a message Do the following: If you want to recall the message but not replace the message :
  1. In Mail, in the Navigation Pane (Navigation Pane: The column on the left side of the Outlook window that includes panes such as Shortcuts or Mail and the shortcuts or folders within each pane. Click a folder to show the items in the folder.), click Sent Items.
  2. Open the message that you want to recall.
  3. On the Message tab, in the Actions group, click Other Actions, and then click Recall This Message.

4. Click Delete unread copies of this message.
NOTE: If you are sending the message to a large number of people, you may want to clear the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient check box.

2044659.jpg
1. Select whether you want to only delete the message or delete and replace the message.
2. Select the check box to receive a confirmation that the recall was successful.

NOTE: Yo can also recall and replace the message.

I hope it helps.
If you would like to vote for the answer, this will help the others to see the similar problems solved and also will be a satisfaction factor for me to continue helping you.
All the best.

Tried to send e-mail error host SMTP could not be found error code ox8oocccod do not understand what that means

It sounds as though you're using Outlook to send email to and from and ISP and not to or from a Microsoft Exchange server. If so, then the following applies.

The error message means that there is a configuration problem with your email account settings. This error usually happens when an error has been made when specifiy the name of the outgoing (SMTP) mail server.

Note: It may be necessary to contact your ISP to obtain their specific mail server information. The standard port number for Incoming mail (POP3) is 110. The standard port number for Outgoing mail (SMTP) is 25.

Here's what you need to do to verify your settings:

1. Contact your ISP to obtain their specific mail server settings.
2. Open Outlook
3. Click on the "Tools" menu item then click on "Account Settings".
4. Make sure you are on the "Email tab" of the account setting dialog box.
5. Double click on the email account that is listed under "Name".
6. The Internet Email Settings dialog box will appear.
7. Look for the heading "Sever Information". Below that heading you will see Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server . Verify the names of your mail servers match the information given to you by your ISP.
8. If your ISP have provided you with port numbers other than those listed in the note above, perform steps 9 to 12. Otherwise proceed to step 13.
9. From the Internet Email Settings dialog box, click on the "More Settings" button.
10. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
11. Change the Incoming and Outgoing mail server ports to match the information provided by your ISP.
12. Click the OK button to save the changes.
13. Click on the "Next" button.
14. Click on the "Finish" button.
15. Click on the "Close" button to colse the account settings.

Outlook will now be configured properly to send and receive Internet Email.

Out of Office Responder

Hi Lalita, are you using outlook express in XP? If so, there is no one click solution. Firstly you have to create a new notepad document, open this in START>Programs>Accessories>Notepad. With this open, type the message you would like to be forwarded when you are out of the office. When you are happy with it, save it in your my documents folder as 'outofoffice'. You should now have the file 'outofoffice.txt' in your mydocuments folder. Next go into outlook express, goto Tools>message rules>Mail...>. A four part dialog box should appear. Under "1. Select Conditions for your rule" scroll to the bottom of the list and add a check mark to "For all messages". Under "2. Select Actions for your rule", check off "Reply with message". Under "3. Rule description" the follow items will now be listed: Apply this rule after the message arrives For all messages Reply with message You will see that 'meesage' is underlined, click on it, a dialog will open, make sure is 'my documents' folder, in 'files of type' drop down choose *.txt. (nearly there promise!) Your file 'outofoffice.txt' should appear, click it then click open. in rule description call it something like 'when out of office' and click ok. The rule dialog should now be there, the box will be ticked, that means you auto responder is turned ON. To turn off uncheck this box, and check it when you leave the office. If you close it, to find the rule again, just navigate to tools>message rules>mail..> and will show you the dialog again to turn it on and off. I hope that was reasonably clear, if not or you don't have outlook express leave a comment and I will try and help you further, otherwise Lalita, I hope this has helped! Si :)
