Question about Garden
I prime the engine and it starts then dies. I prime it again and it starts and dies again. Seems like it can't get gas unless I manually pump it. Anybody know what causes this problem? Air filter is clean. Thanks Bob

From your Description it Sounds like the Exhaust Port or Muffler is Restricted with Carbon Deposits, the Carburetor Metering Pump Actuator Gap is Incorrect.
>>The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Doing a Diagnostic on the Engine for this Problem. Any Input is Appreciated.
>>**Remove the Muffler and Make Sure the Exhaust Port is Clear.
>>If it is, then Try to Start the engine with the Muffler Off.
>>If it Starts and Runs Properly, then Clean the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler or Replace the Muffler if Required.
Is the Fuel Line from the Fuel Filter Staying Full of Fuel?
The Carburetor Metering Jet Actuator is Set so the Pump Diaphram Dowl is Just Touching the Actuator Arm. These Components are Located Under the Cover with 4 Small Screws Holdong it to the Carburetor Body.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Check to see if your feul line is cracked or it is drawing air . Check your clamps that hold the lines on . One other thing you can check is to see if any bolts are loose that hold the carb on . Best of luck Ed.

You have/had a fuel filter in the tank. The connector goes to that filter, I think. The length does mean something but I don't know any way to figure it without a manual. You could try to figure from the total length. The fuel filter hold the line toward the bottom. Good luck.

SOURCE: ENGINE STARS AND THEN DIES
Try changing the fuel filter and if that dont do it there is a small screen inside the carb that usually plugs up carefully disassemble it and clean it out with a good brand of carb cleaner

Sounds like the fuel lines are crossed. Either the in and out lines on the primer are crossed or the primer line on the carbureator is crossed with the normal feed line. Good luck
