Go here and run the system scanner, It will tell you how much RAM is currently installed, what your MAX is, how many available slots, and what type.

Hi,
I would get the 2 1gb chips to be sure. That board is 6 years old, and I don't think they made 2 gb chips back then. Maybe they did, but don't think a 478 board would be able to read it. So, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
