Sorry to annoy you but you must have a cd or a recovery disc if your windows is genuine , if not you are using a pirated version. i suggest you not to format you pc if it is still fine. if you are formatting your pc for sake of better performance in speed , i have a magical solution. just download trial version of iolo system mechanic and run it on your pc. it eill automatically analyse and solve all the problems and make your pc run like new.

How to famat my asus Eee pc 4g

Go to, download BartPE and create a boot disk for your NTFS drive. I assume you have windows XP, Vista or 7. If not, you will need a windows 98 bootdisk which can be created on a floppy from windows 98. If you need directions to do that, let me know.

Start from the bootdisk and you will get an A:\ prompt.
At the A:\ prompt, type Format C:\ and hit enter. (make sure that there is a space between the Format and C:\

You will get a warning message that all data will be lost. IF this is what you want to do, go ahead and confirm the format.

If you found this information helpful, please remember to leave positive feedback,

Thank You,

if you know your harddrives' manufacturer, go to their site and download their disk managment software, which is usually a self-extracting .exe file which will create a floppy disk. Create the floppy, and start your machine with the floppy in your a: drive, and use the tools displayed to format the drive.
Another option is to go to and grab a windows '98 bootdisk with cdrom drivers, start your machine and when you get a Dos prompt type a: fdisk and follow the prompts.

How do i reformat?

You are accessing the DOS command via your OS so of course your drive is in use.

Use the original install disc to reformat.

Boot manager missing

The hard drive needs to be low level formatted, fdisk'd and FAT32 formatted prior to ME install. I don't know where to get free copies, but I've used both On Track's drive manager and Acronis v10. Bothe are very good your purposes. Both retail +- $50.00

If you have windows nt, 2000, or xp, you will need to use the setup cd for that OS that came with your computer.

If you don't have one you can download an iso cd image or a floppy disk image from The exe files from that site are safe to use. Just insert a floppy and run the program, and it will create a bootdisk.

Let me know how it goes.

I need to know how to reformat

to reformat, you will need a bootable floppy or xp installation cd. go to to download one. then boot on that floppy/cd, then type format c:, and you should be fine with that. make sure you have the XP or other OS installer ready so you can reinstall when formatting is done.
