You can use the compressed air to clean it but you could also oil the fan by removing the sticker in the middle and inserting a few drops of sewing machine oil.

HP notebook fan is always on

Clean the Dust from around the vents with a can of compressed air. That might stop it from running all the time.

The best way is to take the laptop apart and blow the dust out.

Do I clean model FS10-S4R the same as model FZ10-9HB have had this for a long time really needs cleaning bad it is a wonderful fan

compressed air , you might try bringing it to a electric motor repair shop or a auto shop and ask real nice if they would be nice enough to give your fan a shot of air. a weed blower will work also but not even close to the job of compressed air. last resort is to take it apart totaly and use soapy water and a scrub brush. do not get the motor wet ! and oil the bearings on the motor with zoom spout oil #D01.. and you can milk your favorite fan out for many, many years .. this way is like cheating death! ... jay the pool pump motor repair guy in longwood fl

My computer just popped up a warning and told me to return it for service due to an overheating problem. What can I do to fix it?

Solution:
If the CPU heatsink is not clogged with dust and lint completely, you can use canned air and just blow it inside the laptop through the openings on the bottom and on the sides. It's nice as a precaution measure, but it might not work if your laptop already has a problem and the heatsink is completely clogged.
  1. Open the laptop case, so you can access the CPU fan and the heatsink. In some cases you can access the heatsink through the latch on the bottom of the laptop. Sometimes (for example Toshiba Satellite A70/A75) you have to open the laptop case all the way down.
  2. Carefully disconnect the fan cables on the system board and remove the fan. If the fan makes unusual sound when it spins (grinding sound), I would recommend to replace the fan.
  3. Clean the fan and the heatsink with compressed air.
  4. I would also recommend removing old thermal grease from the CPU and applying new grease for better heat conductivity.

Why my computer always stuck .?

This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.

Over heating

This laptop is probably due for a deep cleaning. There is probably a dust build-up on the fan intake assembly that is not letting enough cool air into the laptop. You can try spraying it with compressed air, but it should be taken apart and cleaned.

How do I clean/take apart the Lasco tower fan, mine is working but extreamly dirty. Purchased 3 at WalMart and ; no paper work in boxes.

Easiest solution is going to be compressed air, not canned air for blowing out keyboards and computers, but compressed air from an air compressor. These fans are not designed to come apart for cleaning.. they're meant to be used a year, thrown away and you buy another one.

You need to solve the overheating problem first. Shut down the computer, unplug it and remove the bottom cover. Clean the dust and lint. Blow compressed air from a compressed air can. Re-install the cover and restart your computer. If you own a laptop, the fan should be running ALL THE TIME, sometimes slow, sometimes fast buta always running. Check the the fan is blowing air. If it is not, you'll need to replace it before doing anything else.
