Thanks Eric. However, my pc does not find my Wacs when I connect it! It also wont accept a cd with the firmware. Any other ideas please?

  • ajbicker Feb 07, 2010

hi, i have the firmware file ready to go but as it wont recognise a connection i cant load/reinstall the firmware. i only just redownloaded the software to my pc!

  • ajbicker Feb 07, 2010

Ethernet is connected but it still does not recognise the wacs. I have already downloaded all the software from the philips site, as per your instructions before you kindly gave me that advice. I have even tried to manually connect rather than auto connect (ip settings).

You might need to reinstall the firmware or upgrade it. You can use the PC Installer CD that came with the device, it also contain the details on how you can upgrade it, or you can go to this link,

It is because of the firmware problem why your pc can't find your wacs. You can download the firmware to the link that i gave you and install it. If you can uninstall your wacs software do it, before you reinstall the downloaded one.

Check if the ethernet is connected or recognized by your pc. It would be better if you download the manual too, so you can visualize the process.

Check if you are logged on to your pc with administrator rights. If your network is properly installed and connected check firewall setting, turn in off for the mean time while trying to establish connection.

Let's go back. Unplug all the units. Place unit side by side. Plug in main unit and press down power for 30 seconds. when it reboots reset to factory setting if you are able to. then connect the other units and do the same.

How was it AJ? If that failed to solve your problem the last resort is to reset the EEPROM.

Hi,
Welcome to FixYa!
Since you already done doing system restore and same thing happens, there's a possibility that the problem is with the Operating System itself. All you need to do is to reinstall the whole operating system.
1. If you have the Recovery Disc that came with the computer, insert the disc and restart the computer.
2. It will ask you to press something, maybe Del or F2 to boot from the disc.
3. Once you press that, your computer will automatically boot from the cd and it will asked you on to which partition you will save it.
4. Choose the partition which have the largest space, usually Disc 0 Partition 1.
5. Follow the next instruction on the screen and it will reinstall the whole Operating System.
Hope this information will help. Thank you for using FixYa!

Most likely you are experiencing a hard drive failure.  The Click of Death is normally a good indicator.
Most likely a hard drive will resolve your problem.  If the system is under warranty, contact the vendor.  If not, you can buy a replacement HDD normally for less than $100

Booting up

Probably corrupt firmware. You can re-load the backup and restore the system.
Press and hold the SOURCE and STOP buttons whilst plugging into the mains supply.

Continue to hold until recovery option appears.

If this doesn't work, then the backup firmware is corrupt too.

Fujitsu C6387 slow to start

What may well be happening is that a peice of hardware, eg usb ports, network adapter, graphics driver or similair is struggling to find the driver for it and is hanging the boot up. It could also be a memory failure or a bios failure as the memory used by your system takes over after the first 64KB of built in bios memory. Start your laptop in safe mode (press F8) on start up, as this will load up with only the needed drivers, if it boots up quicker it may well a driver fault, it is then a process of illimination.
