Try entering "admin" for the user and "password" for the password.

SOURCE: BIOS PASS NOTEBOOK LG K1 CONFIG KS

you will need to reset the BOIS by removing the CMOS battery of your laptop and placing it back after about 10sec or short the jumper for the CMOS. this requires you to open your laptop and locating the CMOS battery cell on the motherboard.

Do not attempt to short out the jumpers on your own. As simple as it is, you can also kill the board. Also, the RTC battery will not effect the BIOS password. Take it in to the nearest Toshiba ASP center and they will reset the BIOS password as well as update it to the latest BIOS revision to avoid it from happening again UNDER WARRANTY. You do not have to pay for this repair.

When I got my laptop and made a user, it asked for a password, but I forgot what my password was(could have been a typo). So I just made a different user with a password that I can remember. And now...

If you new user is an Administrator you can reset the original user password or delete the user. The exact method will depend on the operating system. Post your operating system and I will provide more details.

I bought this toshiba satellite m20 in an auction. its asking for an administrator password. HOw can i remove the password?

Is the BIOS asking for a password or is Windows asking for a password? If it's the BIOS then you might never get the password off. Seldom can you remove the password from a laptop's BIOS without already knowing the password. If it's Windows that's asking for the password, then try reinstalling your operating system. This will get rid of the password and anything else that may be lurking around in the computer from the previous owner.

Unlocking the

Try holding down the CTRL-ALT-DELETE keys three times when the Toshiba logo appears. This may remove or at least bypass the password. If not:

Go to the link below and based on the unit you have, download the latest BIOS update and install manually from floppy or CD. This will update the sysyem, wipe out all password and get you into the system.

Hard drive

go to Toshiba website and see tech specs/manual/put in ask IRIS block-replace hardrive, will ask for your make/model and a pic will be displayed explaining location--remember there is a disclaimer so check to see if under a warranty first, also you have the recovery CD handy, do a backup for crucial items you need.
