I assuming that you can't read the number of the IC because it's damaged. However what anyone (here at FixYa) will need to know is the model make and number of your tape deck to help you further.

The sound on my toshiba theater view wont work i checked both the speakers and they are fine. Is this a simple fix?

hi,
If speakers are ok then the sound output ic of your tv is faulty. If you have basic knowledge in electronics then you can replace the ic. You can find the ic by following the wires from the speakers. It will end near the sound out put ic. The ic will be fitted on an aluminum heat sink. Note that number of that ic and get a new one from the nearest electronic spare part shop. For replacing the ic you need some tools like screwdriver de-soldering pump soldering iron, solder etc. All these thing will get from the spare part shop, if you don't have the same.Be sure to open the tv only after half an hour after dismantling the power because electrolytic capacitors inside it will store the power for some time.
ok

Sharp LC-60LE810UN. the sound all of a sudden cut out on the tv. everything on the tv seems to be working just fine. but there is no volume at all.

hi,
You have to check three things.
1. Check is the mute function is ON or not. For that press the mute button on the remote.
2. Check the speakers of you tv. For that you have to open the tv. For testing the speaker you need a multimeter. Check the coil continuity of the speaks. it should be 4 ohms or 8 ohms. If there is no continuity then change the speaker with a new one. If the continuity is ok then
3. You have to check the audio output amplifier IC ( integrated circuit). For finding out the audio amplifier ic which one it is, just follow the wire from the speakers. Its other end will ends in the socket near the audio output IC. It will be fitted on a aluminum heat sink (radiator)
To replace the IC you need soldering ion, desoldering pump, solder etc.
the part number will be written on it. you have to purchase the same part with the same part number.
ok

Why are the speakers not working? The volume button works.

Hello,

First You need to check if the cable that is connecting Your device o any outer source is properly connected, once that is confirmed, then You know the problem is that the sound IC of the television is bad and need to be replaced.
To replace the sound IC, You need to get a cup, a screwdriver and a replacement sound IC, before You get a replacement sound IC, I will strongly advice You disassemble the television first to be able to tell the kind of sound IC You should buy. Follow these steps below to replace the sound IC:
  1. Turn of Your television,
  2. Disconnect it from the power outlet and allow it rest for about 6 hours, so the high voltage on it will dissipate,
  3. Then You unscrew the television open,
  4. Trace the wires that is at the back of the speakers, it will lead You straight to the sound IC,
  5. Disconnect the sound IC and get a replacement for it,
  6. Fix in the new sound IC,
  7. Reverse the steps to reassemble the television back together,
  8. Plug the television back and turn it on,
This time the sound will work perfectly fine.
Hope this helped. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

My sony KV-G21PD1 sounds are not working

Hello
Either your TVs internal speaker or its sound output Ic has damaged. You can make sure about which part is damaged through the following sugession.
Just place your ear, very close to the TVs speaker side, and switch on your TV with its front panel power switch, not by the remote control. If you can hear a 'thumb' sound or 'HUM' sound, you can make sure that the speaker is ok. If you hear a 'HUM' sound as describe above, make sure that its sound output Ic has damaged. If the sound output Ic has damaged, sometimes you may not hear any sound at all too.
Connect the TVs audio out RCA scoet to an amplifier, if you have, and try to get the sound through it. If there is sound through an external device, make sure once again that the internal sound output Ic has damaged. Speaker can be checked by a torch cell, connecting its terminals to the two leads of the speaker, with two pieces of wire, just intermittent touch, you can make sure that it is ok or not.
To replace the sound output Ic, you must open your TV, and locate the sound output section inside it. It is easy, to do, just follow the speaker wire, and find it from which point from the main board it orginates. Somewhere near to it, you can loact this Ic.
Before replacing the Ic, just measure whethere there is voltage comes to its supply terminal or not. If there is voltage, and no sound at all, replace the Ic with same type and number without any doubt.
If there is no voltage comes to the input pin of that Ic, check the track leading voltage to that point, and find whether there is any resistor has opend or not. Ok
If you need any further assistance, contact me through Fixya.
OK.

No sound deh 16

The most likely reason for this is normally the output amplifier IC in the radio. If this is the problem, you would need to have the IC replaced. One bad speaker can also cause all the speakers to stop working.

If you have a multimeter to check the voltages on the speaker wires I could giude you thru troubleshooting it. It is very common for the amplifier IC to go bad in these radios. I work at an authorized Pioneer repair center and have fixed countless numbers of these radios. But before anybody can be certain of the cause of your problem, some thngs must be checked using a multimeter. Let me know if you have one, I will then tell you how to check what needs to be checked.

A repair for this type of problem on this radio will normally be too expensive to make it worth fixing. These radios normally cost about $100 brand new in the U.S. and a repair for this problem at a service center would be very close to that same amount, making it a better idea to buy a new one. If you do the repair yourself, it would only cost about $30 for the part. But you would need to know how to solder very good and be able to remove the bad IC and solder the new one into the radio. If you are not able to do this very well, please consider replacing the radio with a new one. You would first need to determain if the radio is at fault by checking the voltages on the speaker wires. They should all be around 6.5 to 7.0 volts. That is the normal voltage for speaker wires for these type of radios.

Let me know if you require more help.

Its most likely a settings problem or drivers missing maybe?

Hardly any need to buy a new port for speakers, unless its really broken.

try the speakers on another pc if they work fine there then its a problem in your pc, sound settings or drivers.

Check device manager
right click my computer select manage.
on the left side select device manager

note any yellow ! marks on sound devices or unknown devices.
