I am assuming you are referring to playing original Xbox games on your new 360. Halo was the only game from the box that you can play directly without needing to download the patch to play but supposed newer systems have the capability to play more directly out of the box.
Other backwards compatable games can be played but you will need a samll patch for each game. The game if playable will automatically attepmt to download the patch from xbox live. So you will need to have your Xbox 360 conected to live or have a patch disk. (which is available via the Xbox Magazine disk or can be downloaded online and burned to a disk)
You might be starting to have problems with your HANA chip. You can purchase a heat sink for it on ebay with instructions on how to install it. Fairly easy fix. Good luck!
if it says " disc is unreadable" then u have to clean it, then restart ur console. and that happens to me all the time. just keep opening and closing ur disc tray untill it works. thats's what i do with modern warfare 2
This is fairly common, especially if you are moving quickly in left 4 dead. It is maxing out the Xbox 360's capabilities and once and a while will get a graphic glitch here or there. Make sure your xbox 360 is well ventilated and is not overheating. This could cause this as well, but since you say it's only in left 4 dead this is probably not the case.
i have had this before and what you should do is take the game out get it buffed for like 5$ and if it still doesnt work sell it and buy another left 4 dead if it doesnt work im sorry
