Your p.c has four slots for ram 533Mhz. if your ram is low then you can purchase extra ram to speed up your computers processing power. either 512Mb or 1Gb sticks are available for your motherboard at 533Mhz. if this is not sufficient then you will have to upgrade your board to a newer more powerfull model. changing motherboard is not replacing the whole computer. see computer repair shop or vendor.

I have a K7sem Rev:1.0 Socket 462 motherboard with 448 mb ram, and would like to increase if possible .

Your motherboard will support a maximum of 1GB of memory. It uses PC133 / PC100 memory in two slots (512 Mb in each one)

My system doesnt see the ram i installed,(512x2) its perfectly compatible, still it only sees 448 MB out of 1024.i updated bios and it coz i am using the on-board graphics adapter?help me out...

It looks like your computer is seeing only one 512Mb RAM module. Your computer uses shared RAM - 448Mb RAM is available for the computer and 64Mb is reserved for video RAM (448 + 64 = 512Mb) of RAM.
One of the RAM modules may be faulty. To determine which RAM module is faulty, remove both RAM modules and insert one RAM module at a time to determine the faulty RAM module.
If both RAM modules are OK then -
Some computers do not like mixed RAM modules from different manufacturers. Try using the RAM modules with the same make and type/speed.

My everex computer has 448 mb of ram i would like

Actually your computer does have 512 RAM. The 64 MB discrepancy is what the graphics memory uses. 64 + 448 = 512, get it?

If you want it to show full 512 MB, you need to install a separate video card. Refer to your PC's manual and see if it has a separate AGP or PCI-E slot.

If it has then you can choose from the many available in the market.

You can choose between having a low end low cost or a high end one designed for gaming. Just choose what suits you best and remember that a higher power card requires proper cooling and higher wattage PSU (power supply).

Note that no matter how much RAM is installed, some portion of it will be used for graphical operations.

Its soing the 448 mb

Your motherboard is "stealing" 64MB of the 512MB RAM, to use as "video-RAM", which leaves 448MB of your RAM as "usable" by Windows.

If it shows only 448 MB only means the RAM you are currently using is 512 MB only...person who changed your RAM might cheated you instead of putting 2GB RAM...And also check your laptop for any virus...

I having problem with my ram upgrade

Make sure that the ram is pushed in all the way and also that it is the right ram. This is what should be on the package that you bought, if none of this matches you bought the wrong one.. DDR2-533 (PC2-4200) SO-DIMM

Please repost if this doesn't solve your problem

Generally you can add more RAM, However, there are too many details that are needed about your system in order determine if an upgrade can be done.

Suggest you call Gateway Support.
