Our dishwasher fills but does not drain. It's making a humming sound coming from the gadget to the right of the pump. Does anyone know what that humming gadget is? Does anyone know if the gadget in question is for draining?

I tried to find a parts manual on the Hobart web page but no dishwasher section or model number exists . I have a ML-130017 LXiH Hobart dishwasher.

Its a hobart correct? The data plate is on the bottom right front or on the door when opened on the left.If you dont see it then its been removed.Regardless does the display show a wash then rinse cycle? If so and it doesnt drain you either have a clogged drain hose or the drain valve is bad or stuck. If you use this just to wash glasses your model is probably a lxigc. If glasses are broken in the dishwasher which they probably are the glass has gotten into the drain body and is obstructing the valve from opening and closing.I work for hobart and services dishwashers alot.let me know.

Hello,
Try running a white vinegar wash. Add 1 cup to the unit and run a normal cycle. Also rinse agent must be used to achieve spotless glass. Water hardness can affect this as well.

After a wash cycle my unit leaves a film on my glass'

first thing you need to do is purchase a bottle of dishwaser cleaner from your groc store in the diswasher detergent section red the instructions on the label add it to the cutlery tray in an empty dishwasher upside down remove the paper seal off the top of the lid do not remove the wax seal place the bottle upside down in your dishwasher turn on hot water tap and run till it is hot next turn on your washer set it to wasn and let it run a full cycle. when washer finishes open it up when it cools and fill rinse dispenser in door with a good quality rinse agent like jet dry close dispenser and when dishwaser is full of dirty dishes turn it on the jet dry will make your galsses come out crystal clear w no film and the dishwaher cleaner will help all your dishes come cleaner.Use the dishwasher cleaner aroun 4-6 wekks it cleans all the inside of the dishwasher and removes a lot of **** aND RESIDUE THAT ACCUMULATES IN DISHWASHERS OVER TIME

Disherwasher fills with water but will not spray

Mine did the same thing; cycled through without any actual washing by the spray arms. pulled the sump and found a piece of broken glass was jamming the impeller. Might have been able to remove this glass by removing the volute cover and exposing the impeller while the sump was still in the machine, but that's hindsight.

The dishwaser is really noisey when it is running. Never had this problem before.

The first thing I would do is remove the lower wash arm (pull streight up, then out.)

Remove the approximately nine phillips screws that hold the filter assembly down. As you pull out the filter, wash out everything as best you can. With a flashlight, inspect the entire sump area for debris (watch out for broken glass!)

Reassemble and test. Please report back if you still have problems. OK?

Dishwasher is not draining

most likely there is something in the drain pump blocking the normal draining procedure.

remove the lower panel on the front of the machine and you will see the pump and the drain hose attached. disconnect the hose and check it. then look in the little pump for a piece of glass or other debris.

please rate my answer as a fixya. thanks
