Question about Heating & Cooling

I have a Trane xe 70. The Heat is not turning on. The ignitor will glow but NO gas or blower. I turn on the fan and the blower does work but not when HEAT is selected on the t-stat. Also the LED light inside the Furnace flashes continuously after 2 attempts with the ignitor.

Check to see if you get 24 volts AC at the gas valve from the circuit board when the igniter is glowing. If yes, bad gas valve or blockage in gas train. If no, bad circuit board or broken wire

Trane xe 70 cycles through the gas release cycle but fails to ignite the burners, upon inspection it appears that the igniter isnt glowing

Either the circuit to the electronic ignitor is bad or the ignitor (electrode) itself has failed. Either are not difficult to replace, but you will need a circuit tester to troubleshoot which part(s) needs replacing.

When turning on heat after a period of using air

It sounds like the fan limiter switch is going bad. This switch waits until the air temp is high enough for heating the house before allowing the fan/blower to come on. There is another switch that shuts off the blower when the air drops to a certain temp, or it may be the same switch that does both jobs. Hope this helps.

It's not lighting it's not working I see motor is running and I think gas coming out but it's not lighting I turn off the funance

Turn the power off to the furnace, turn the thermostat to the highest heat setting then turn the power on. The fan may start for a brief period, then the combustion blower will start, after approx 90 seconds, the ignitor will light and heat up. You should be able to see a glowing in the burner lens. If you do not see a red glowing, similiar to a car lighter, that would indicate the ignitor may have failed. If after 3 attempts, the systems fails to light, there is a light on the circuit board that will flash, the number of flashes will indicate the reason for the fault.

Electric furnace. Just replaced the controller board but no heat. The blower does come on when the thermostat gives the heat command and I was wondering if that means the relays to the furnace coils is...

On a Trane furnace the fan realy must energize before the electric strips will come on. On the thermastat. See if there is setting for electric heat. This will bring the fan on and the strips should come on. First just turn on your heat and and turn fan to on postion if it works you need to set tstat to electric heat mode. Most of the time there is sswitch in the back of the stat that says gas elec. Turn to electric. Rus

Igniter is glowing and heat is building up in the oven but no fan

Turn the gas supply valve off to the oven.
Remove the oven racks and base to access the burner and igniter. Place a clamp on amp meter on one wire of the ignitor.
Turn the oven control on and let the ignitor heat up. If the amp draw is less than 3.0 amps, replace the ignitor.

you can switch the thermostat to "emergency heat" which will turn the outdoor section off and the thermostat will control the electric heat elements in the air handler if it has them.

Your induce fan motor senor is out. The little fan motor that take out the heat has a sensor that tells the furnace thats its working. Some time it get stuck. Try blowing and sucking into the tube. you should hear a click

Goodman furnace

Check the roll out switch(s) and the lock out switches. They are a small disc looking about the size of a nickle, with with 2 wires attached on them. There will be a re-set button in the middle that resembles a small peg. Push this in to re-set. As the glow coil shorted out, the fuse on the control board may have blown. On the newer furnaces find the main board and look for a car type fuse. If blown, replace. You also have the symptoms of a bad limit switch, by the clicking noise (the heat fan relay) and the blower fan running instantlly.
