When hearing strange noises from a copier, alarm bells should ring. Did you check for paper jam? Did you load correctly the paper? switch off the machine and snitch it on later. If the problem stays please check a repair engineer.
Fortunately they are still making 8mm camcorders usuallyrunning less the $200 to replace. It could be more cost effective to get a new model for that price as well. I couldn't record on my Sony 8mm camcorder anymore after five years of use and over 100 tapes that I had recorded. It's plays back but that's about it.
Does your camera make a buzzing sound as if it trying to eject? Or if you listen carefully can you hear the very faint sound of a motor free-spinning? I have just repaired a friends camera of a very similar model to yours with the same problem. There is a tiny motor in the tape compartment which comes loose from its "pathetic" mounting. This causes the gears to disengage and in turn renders the eject mechanism useless. The motor is in the bottom left hand corner (looking in as if loading a tape) right underneath the Player, off, camera selector. The motor simply needs to be repositioned to engage the gears. I then added some glue to stop it happening again (be extremely careful though as ANY overspill of glue will ruin the camera completely).
This is a tape transport problem and is expensive to fix. Unless you know a cheap tech, it's time for a new one. Be patient loading and unloading tapes. This is usually what causes this problem. The Yellow warning sticker is REALLY important. Another important item is to always use the same brand of tape because switching tapes causes a gummy build-up the makes tapes get caught in the machine. Videoteacher
I had the same Problem. My Solution was i open the camera, then i take the batery away. I put the tape into and close the camera, then i put the battery into and the camera close with the tape
sad to say that the problem of your camera is the timing gear is already damage....it need to disassembly the camera to fix the timing gear....go to the qualified service center for fixing or replacing the timing gear..
Is it only the Head cleaning cassette which keeps getting ejected, or is it happening with every tape you insert?
Was the Head Cleaning Tape a little tight in the Cassette compartment? Did you have to put some pressure to push it in or did it come out with difficulty? From your symptoms, it looks like there is a gear timing problem with the cassette loading compartment gears. It could also be due to some obstruction inside. try shaking the VCR, and if you are hearing some noise, Open cover and check for foreign objects.
