Question about ASUS A8M Notebook

1 Answer

Hi, my Asus a8m has 512 mb of ram. I'm considering buying a macbook, but wondering if it would be worth upgrading to 1 or 2 mb of ram and having a professional 'clean out' my asus. Would it be worth it? What is the max amount of ram that the a8m can be upgraded to, and would the cost be worth it? Thank you!! Abbie

Max supported memory is 2GB (2x1GB sticks replacing your current memory). Yes, it'd be worth it to add more memory of you were keeping the machine, otherwise restore it to original configuration and sell it "as is". Don't get a professional, just used your ASUSes restore option to set it back to factory configuration.

I want to upgrade my HP BA 600 Mother Board`s RAM Capacity

Hello,
Most likely your MB is too old for this upgrade although there is a chance you could flash your bios (reprogram your computer's brain to accept the new memory providing hp has a flash for it).
here is a link for the latest bios flash for your computer, use at your own risk.

good luck.

Upgrade from 512MB to 1GB

The specs on the memory are correct, so you purchased the correct type of memory for this motherboard. If your getting no video when you power on with the 1gb stick, I would be willing to bet the 1gb stick is bad. Can you return it and try another stick?
