Rex,
here's a site that should be able to answer all your questions regarding coding a remote to a device...
http://www.remotecodelist.com/remotes/

    Rex,

Are you sure you looked it up properly? The link will take you to a list of MOST of the common universal remotes in exsistence today. Find the remote - click on that link and then to the codes for the particular unit you're trying to access... Universal remotes are coded to the device - not the other way around. Looks like, by your response, your going at it in reverse.

Need owners manual for proper connections to tv w/direct connections I hsve a sony dvp ns300 cd/dvd player

The connection you use will depend on the TV. For the best picture, connect component video cables (not included) from the DVD player's output (to the right of the other jacks on the back of the unit) to the component video in of the TV. Then connect the Right and Left audio from output 1 to the appropriate audio input of the TV. (These may vary depending on the TV and other devices connected to the TV. They might be audio 1 or part of a group with the component video inputs.)

Otherwise you can use an S-video cable connection and the separate audio cable or the composite video cable (which has 1 yellow RCA plug for video and 2 others (red and white) for audio). Connect these from the output of the player to the matching input ports of the TV.

For TVs with only RF in, you need a composite video to RF modulator (converter). See a store like Radio Shack for this.

The manual is available from Sony: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DVPNS300 . Pictures of the connections start at page 15 and more detail is provided from page 17 through 23. See the manual for details if you have a home theater system or other external speaker option.

I hope this helps.

My DVD player is hooked up to my RCA truflat but i cannot find the picture. I lost the original remote to my RCA truflat and am now using a RCA universal remote. How do I get picture on my tv?

There should be a button on the front of the TV that says TV/VIDEO or INPUT. Turn on the DVD player and put a DVD in it and press play. Press the TV/VIDEO button until the picture is present.

Good Luck....

Is there a code to watch a region 2DVD on a US

There are codes, but they are programmed into the player and cannot be accessed by the consumer. The biggest problem you would have, even if you HAD the code, is that the TV programs in Europe are encoded in PAL -- we here in the States use NTSC. So you probably wouldn't be able to view the program successfully anyway.

I suggest returning them to Amazon UK, explaining the situation, and reordering them from Amazon US.

I need help connecting sony dvp ns 300 to a jvc tv. I can't watch dvd at all, confused about the wiring where does it go?

The CD/DVD player has three output ports:
(i) Line out Video used to connect the yellow pin of composite cable.
(ii) S-video out use d to connect an S-video cable.
(iii) Component video out (red, blue, green) used to connect a component video cable.

So, in order to connect the CD/DVD player to the TV, the TV should have either of the corresponding input port on it.

However, the video quality transmitted by component video cable will be the best among the three.

So, you may connect the TV and the CD/DVD player using an appropriate cable.

All the above connections require an additional audio cable to transmit audio from the CD/DVD player to the TV.
In this case, you may use an RCA (red and white) audio cable to connect the "R and L" audio out port on the CD/DVD player to the corresponding "R and L" audio in port on the TV.

Performing all the above steps will help you get the DVD player work with the TV.

wish u good luck!!!!!!!!!!

I lost my remote but have another sony remote but dont know how to tune it to the dvd player

Look at back of Sony remote (or inside battery compartment) and find the product code.
Do the same with your dvd player (product id, model number).
Go to Sony website and you may get coding info in the support/download section.
Alternatively, there may be a telephone support number that you can dial for assistance.

Dvd player is hooked up to tv i insert the disc and push play and then on the screen of the player it reads ''no disc'' and there is a disc inserted in to the player

get a dvd cleaner try using it first, if this will not help then you can manually clean the lens by using a cotton buds but this must be done carefully because the lens is sensitive.

Do you have this problems with all dvds? If so, it could be the cable.
