I'm having headaches with a Linksys SPA-2102 I'm dinking around
with. I got it configured with a static IP address, a gateway
address, and a subnet mask, and I get a reply when I ping it, but every
time I try to access the configuration page on the web to give it the
display name, user name, etc I keep getting the "Connection refused
when attempting to contact 10.10.*.*" - what might be causing
this? I'm following the exact same procedure I used for setting
up some older PAP2T adaptors, which work fine. I've tried
rebooting and unplugging the adaptor, but that doesn't work
either. Any suggestions?

You need to connect it with your router using ethernet cable then check which IP is assigned with router and then type that IP in your browser address bar to enter into your device setup. Once entered into setup then follow the on screen instructions.
Okay here is what you need to do. try username : user password : 1234
if it asks for a password use 8995523# or 7756112# or 5465866# or 50274537# or 78196365# (one of these numbers should work for you)
to check your linksys pap2 IP: Pick up the phone dial ****110# The voice will tell you the current IP address. Write it down. Now you put that IP address in your browser and you should be able to get into your box type
If you forgot your user and password of router then press RESET button of router for 10 seconds it is in back side of router. Then all settings defaults. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then configure wan settings and lan settings enable wireless if you want to use wifi . If you forgott WEP password in wireless security note down the WEP code it is your password to connect wifi. Then save settings and restart router. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
You need to: 1) figure out where it's going for config file updates (e.g. http://ip address/path/filename (wireshark highly recommended for this) 2) once you have the filename, you need to find a "broken" copy of that CFG file. You may be able to use the broken sunrocket one (google linksys2102-sunrocket.cfg) 3) setup a webserver to it appears to be at the ip address above (there are a number of ways to do this - google sunrocket 2102 for some step-by-step instructions. 4) reboot the SAP with the DTMF codes
That all seem like too much? Then go to broadband reports.com and PM DogFace05 - he can remotely unlock your 2102, but there's a fee.
try this out
power on your linksys
then pick up the phone connected to that linksys
no dile tone required
when it says configuration menu
if ask for password then nothing can help you buddy
and if it says press 1 to save then press 1 and your device is reset with factory default
