I have a Mikita MAC2400 air compressor that recently stopped working correctly--it cannot build pressure over 40psi and the motor continues to run non-stop.

This could possibly be, you have some water from condensation buildup inside the tank, liquid does not compress. Before this next step make sure the tank is to 0 psi! Now, there should be a relief valve Wingnut on the bottom. Loosen the wing nut and drain as needed. Then retighten the wingnut (Do not overtighten). Plug the compressor in and try it. My second suggestion is, the psi adjustment pressure knob could be faulty replace as needed!

Sometimes IR 30 goes into a strained free wheeling state

Did you change the 3 phase motor out with a single phase motor? A 3 phase motor cannot be made to run on single phase.

1 hp 3gal craftsman compressor will only build up to 20lbs pressure in tank. how much compression should single cyl have on compression stroke?

A piston in any engine should be around 100 psi I would guess. A Chevy 350 used to be around 150 psi. An air compressor that only pumps enough air to reach 20psi is obviously too low on compression. Nailers and the like need 80 or more psi. The intake valves may be shot, the unloader might be stuck or piston rings are worn.

I have a model WL650900AJ 22 gal. Air Compressor. 6.5@40 psi. 5.1@90psI. 150psimax. It will pump until it reaches about 75psi and it stops. I have to wait about 30 to 45 sec. while off/on switch is off...

It sounds like the problem may be the motor protection device. If you draw to many amps it will shut down the motor. This also may happen if you are running an extension cord to power your compressor.

My compressor does not reach more than 30 psi on tank pressures why ?

hi there,
there are certain reason, try to adjust your pressure switch to as certain pressure you want, doing this refers to service manual on adjusting cut out and cut in pressure.there is adjusting screw on a box, mounted on the compressor tank.another factor for not reaching the set up pressure is lost compression observe on this is, a mechanical malfunction of worn out piston ring.if this a reason replace piston ring this should be done by certified
mechnic.have a nice day dont gorget to fix my rate, thanks a lot.

Compressor won't build psi above 30,is this typical of the regulator or pump? the compressor is a 3 gal craftman about 1 yr old.

sounds like the regulator is faulty, normal running air should reach 110 psi, this will allow you to run tools...

1999 Plymouth Voyager overheating & no air

Looks like there is loss of refrigerant gas in the A/c. Get it topped up if required. The rumbling sound is from the compressor since its running out of to compressible refrigerant gas, freon or CF4. Get it topped up............sodeep
