Cannot get brand new printer to work.

This information is from a Canon, I don't see an error 5011. Only the following info. below.

"****" is displayed in the alphanumeric character and depends on the error occurred.
  • 5100/5110 is displayed:
Cancel printing, and turn off the machine. Then clear the paper jam or foreign object that is preventing the Print Head Holder from moving, and turn on the machine again.
    Important
    • Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine. The machine may not print out properly if you touch it.
    • If the problem is not resolved, contact the service center.

  • In other cases:
Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply.
Plug the machine back in and turn the machine back on.
If the problem is not resolved, contact the service center.

I have failed to reset error 5011 and P2 on my canon mg2100, please help

On my Canon MP 240 the P2 error code was because the belt which drives the cartridge unit had slipped off, so the motor turns but the cartridge unit doesnt move. Just make sure the belt is fitting over the cog correctly. As you look into the printer from the front - the cog is on the left hand side. This took away the P2 error code message on the lcd.

Canon printer model MX436 not working as soon as its turned on error message 5011 pops up cant do anythng when this is there have tried unplugging and turning on and off. No luck

This error code requires getting it service by someone local or sending it in. The cost of repair may be more than the printer is worth, depending on age.

Canon MP480- 5011 - Printer Error Has Occurred After Scan/Prt

You need to carefully clean the encoder strip. It's the clear strip behind the carriage that runs all the way from right to left. A damp Q-tip should remove any grease or fingerprints.
