Wireless card (Dell 1397 WLAN half-card) Dell Inspiron 1440

The wireless card (Dell 1397 WLAN half-card) of my Dell Inspiron 1440 laptop stopped working. In the Device Manager it appears as working but it's not. I uninstalled and re-installed the driver several times but no change.

My wireless on my Dell Inspiron Mini 10 has never

Your Dell may not have the wireless card driver installed.
Install the latest wireless driver.
You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 that has a Microsoft Windows Error message that will not go away even when closed. It says "Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller stopped working and was closed"....

Try Deleting the wireless card from Device Manager.

Beware though, if you do this all your wireless settings, such as network names and keys, will probably be deleted as well.

Then right click on the name of your computer and click scan for changes and that will then reinstall the card. Can't say it will help but it's woth a shot.

My inspiron 1501 informed me that the WLAN IEEE 802.11 WAS MALFUNCTIONING.WHAT TO DO?

The WLAN may be faulty or the driver got corrupted.
Reinstall the WLAN driver and check the Device Manager to see it the WLAN is working and enabled, if it is then configure it to match your wireless router settings.
If this doesn't work the most likely the WLAN card is faulty.
To get a wireless connection again, purchase a PCMCIA wireless card and insert it into the PCMCAI slot, install the driver for this wireless card and configure it to match your wireless router settings.

This is more of a operating system issue then a network card issue. It dose fall in networking. Just make sure that both computers are connected to your router. Once done read the information on the link below.
