Trackball doesn't work if you have not selected the sensitivity.
To select the sensitivity, kindly follow the steps:
1. Select menu.
2. Select option.
3. Select screen/key board.
4. Scroll down to find horizontal and verticle
5. Select horizontal-100 and verticle-100.
UGH. Do you feel it depress? Like does it go in as it always did yet nothing happens?
If it doesn't "push" in, then something could be obstructing the cup that it sits in and you can remove the trackball and the cylinder that holds it in and clean it etc, but if it does push in, it's something on the circuit board of the phone and you're gonna have to send it in for service.
Did your trackball fall off and then you replaced it? If so you might have also lost the button under the trackball which makes the trackball click when pushed. This can be repalaced. However the part is very hard to find. Try some local repair stores hoping they have one in stock. if they do it shouldn't be more than $50
