Question about Maytag Washing Machines
Take the bottom front panel off (it has 3 screws.) There will be an off white circular plastic thing there. Resembles the top to a canister. Twist it off. There will be a good bit of water if it hasn't drained properly. put a cookie sheet under it to catch most of the water. Once you completely unscrew the top off hopefully your problem will be right there. you will find socks, a glove, a bead, coins ,nail etc etc in there . check out properly for this and clean that area and check out.
Check out the two things:---
1. Underneath the rubber gasket of the front-loading drum, and, 2. In the drain line, but not in the hose that comes out of the back of the machine. The manual and website make no mention of the three torx screws on the front, lower panel that can be removed, exposing a drain that can then be unscrewed (be prepared for A LOT of water to come out of here if you haven't been able to get it to drain). Inside here you will find the culprit baby socks etc etc , remove them, run a fan on the exposed electronics over night to dry them out, and put it back together. and check out.
if there is a leakage check out for leak in the drain pump.
You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com

The F02 error is a drain error as it seems you know. The first thing you will want to check is your drain pump for debris as this is the most common issue.
To access the drain pump you will need to remove the three screws at the very bottom of your access panel (i usually tip the washer back and set it on my steel toe boot to access the screws). Then pull down slightly on the panel and you can remove it. The drain pump will be located just right of center and it has a cap on it that you can unscrew (counter clockwise). You will want to have a shop vac or a bunch of towels ready as there will be alot of standing water in the machine especially if you have repeatedly tried to cycle the unit. What I do is just crack it open a little bit and let the shop vac **** out the water until the shop vac is full then close it back up and repeat. Once all the water is out remove the drain pumps lint screen (you will find all kinds of fun stuff in there I see alot of baby socks and coins)
Once cleaned stick your finger in a feel the impeller make sure you can spin it freely. Then screw the filter back in and fill the washer and try to drain it. If the washer still wont drain you may have an issue with your drain pump motor or pressure switch. This would require a professional diagnosis however this will solve your problem 19/20 times.
Good luck I love the do-it-yourself attitude give it a shot and you may end up saving yourself alot of money. We charge 120.00 to clear a drain pump. Its worth your time.
Let me know how it pans out _MJ_

This Code Means Long Drain.
If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and "F/02" is flashed.
NOTE: After 4 minutes the "Sud" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.
Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
* Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
* Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
* Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
* If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
