I am unable to open Quickbooks Pro 2007. If I try to uninstall the program, I get the message; The following applications are using files that need to be updated: Quickbooks (Process ID: 5932). If I...

Hello,
You may have to kill these processes before you do an uninstall / repair. Press ctrl + alt + del and select the processes tab. Find anything that says quickbooks or intuit. You could also look for the process ID's you posted. When you find them highlight each and press end process.
Intuit also offers this tool: QuickBooks_Clean_Install_Utility.exe

Sounds like your re-installation of QB did not update your registry files properly.

I would suggest:
1) make a backup of your data
2) uninstalling QB
3) delete the QB installation folder entirely
4) re-install QB
5) restore your data

If this doesn't work, I can provide "remote desktop support" to try a more comprehensive approach.

QB Pro 09 navigation to webpage window pops constantly

This message occurs because, even if you are not on the internet, many of the internal pages in Qb use Internet Explorer.

Problem reinstalling Quickbooks 2003 in XP Home

The newer versions of QuickBooks should be able to read the older versions files. You may get a message about updaing the data.
Many people have been reporting issues with Xp after service pack 3 came out, and was then pulled by Microsoft.
If your system did get the service pack 3 update, it may actually take a microsoft tech to undo the update successfully.

As of Jan 2009 I cannot open my Quickbook Pro 2007 program

Actually in my case, the Windows window opens and simply states that an error has occurred. My solution was to simply reset my Internet Explorer to it's default. Internet Explorer plays a big role with Quickbooks! Possibly an adjustment of the virtual memory or deletion of the temp files might do the same trick, but in my haste, I didn't bother. Maybe in your case defaulting your browser settings might be losing too much, so try the memory stuff first. Resetting the brower is done by going into tools then options then advanced, the reset button is just up from the bottom of the box. Good luck!

I got this solution off the official site forums. This worked for me hope it does the same for you guys.

"Thanks for the post. Let me start by apologizing for this. We had sent out a message concerning IE7 and QuickBooks. What is going on is a dialog box is trying to load, but it is not loading completely. Windows is waiting for a response from this dialog box, that can't be seen. What we should be able to do to work around this for now is to press Alt-F4 at the same time. This should force this window that has not loaded correctly to close. Now we should be able to work in QuickBooks without any trouble. If this does not work we may want to hold the CTRL key down while double clicking on the QuickBooks Icon. The first solution I have seen not work only once."
