Who ever made your motherboard or computer, you need go to there website and download, chipset driver, Modem driver, Ethernet driver,
sound driver, I don't know the hardware you have on your computer because you did not post it.

Right now the computer is using Windows generic drivers, so somethings
will work, but they might not work up to speed or a good as they can with there own drivers.

When you go to thr website of your computer MFG, or the motherboard,
and look at the model # of your system, it will show what drivers are for your system.

Once you get all the drivers loaded, go to ( my computer ) and right click on it, and in the little window pick properties. Somewhere you will see devise MGR, open it, if you have hardware that is missing a driver there will be a yellow shield telling you its missing.

Now that you have all your drivers,

  1. Open System by clicking the Start button I recently re-installed Windows XP Professional - 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking System.
  2. In the left pane, click System Protection. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.png If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. To turn on System Protection for a hard disk, select the check box next to the disk, and then click OK.
    – or –
To turn off System Protection for a hard disk, clear the check box next to the disk, and then click OK.

Now the next time you have a problem, use system restore or install, but system restore is faster and does the same thing.

Don't want these problems, Get Avira, Avast, Kaspersky, Eset, F-secure, Norton 2009.

These are the top anti-virus on the planet, G-data is the top but expensive.

Also get Malwarebytes, there is a free version.

Avira has a free version also.

  1. Right click on My Computer
  2. Choose Manage in the pop-up menu
  3. On the left side of the window that opens up, click on Device Manager
  4. On the right side of the window, look for entries that have a yellow ? or ! as well as a red X.
  5. You'll need to correct any of these before you continue.
  6. If there are no problems there or you have corrected them, you'll need to go through the internet connection wizard to create your internet connection so that Internet Explorer and other internet related software will know how to access the internet.
  7. To start the internet connection wizard, go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Communications, New Connection Wizard.
  8. Follow the prompts to add the new connection.

If you have a dial up modem you need to install the driver for that device. If you have a cable modem, you need to install the NIC (commonly called as network card) driver. Most of the time windows do not automatically sense the network card.
To check whether any drivers are missing, Click on Start. Right click on My computer. Then click on manage. In the pop up that opens, click on device manager. On the right hand side check whether there are any devices which shows a question mark and an exclamation mark in yellow color. Chances are that you will have one on your network card. Right click on this device name and and then click uninstall.
Here I assume that you have the driver in a CD. If yes, put that CD in the CD drive an install it. If you do not have, then you need to get hold of the driver , maybe download it using another computer with a working Internet connection, copy it to a Pen drive and use that to install.
If that is needed, click on Start, click on control panel, click on add new hardware and select that option which will let the computer to search on a specific location and browse to the pen drive. Once installed reboot and you will be ready to browse. For future it would be a good idea to create a partition and copy all your drivers to a folder in that partition. That way, even if you re-install, the drivers remain safe on the hard disk (provided you do not format that partition) and it an easier job to complete installation.

L305-S5907 not booting up. sits on "please wait". can you help me?

Windows normally starts  the required services and loads the program that are need to run properly.Sometimes it includes the program we configurely to run during start up like Antivirus.Due to some appliaction error or services not able to launch in time,Windows takes a long time to reach Deskyop or even freeze.

Check if you can get access to windows in Safe Mode during startup by pressing F8 key, uninstalled all the application that you have recently installed or application which you think after installation caused the problem.

Click start button, select "Run", type  "msconfig"  Press enter.

Click now on Startup tab, untick all the program that loads during system start up.

Scan your PC with a good Antivirus like Kaspersky Internet security 2010 or A-squared Anti-malware with their lastest updates installed.

Malware,Worm,Virus too can caused the problem.

Nothing the problem still persists, download "Hiren's Boot CD"
Here is the download link :

It's has all the tools to repair a system, you can even restore your system to the time when everything was can even take you rhard drive image or backup your important data if everything fails and you need to do a new Re-installed.

Let me know which one work out for you.

Internet only works sometimes

if you are running three virus/malware programs at the same time that could be the problem. take all of them off( uninstall them) and see if that fixes the problem. you can be on the internet for a couple of hrs without any protection as long as you don't surf to many websites
