My Lexmark C510 keeps popping up with a Paper Jam 241 error in Tray 1. There is no paper jam. I open the printer door take the tray out, put it back in and shut the door. How can I fix this problem? I...

I have a Lexmark C510 colour printer: Manufacture date June 2005.
I had been getting the "Paper Jam 241 error in Tray 1" message for some time. Sometimes it would print just fine but in the past several months, it's been bad. I'd pull the tray out (notice roller marks on the top sheet that was only partially fed), reinserted the sheet properly into the tray and try again and again. The techy at Lexmark mentioned that I could purchase a new rubber roller that feeds the sheet but that I might first wipe down the roller myself as they get worn and old. I first wiped it down with a damp cloth to clean it then thought to try reconditioning it with leather conditioner we'd purchased for our couch (I'm sure Amourall would work just as well). Voila, the old, dry roller was picking up paper again. Just open the rear door and that grey roller (it's black again when you recondition it) is at the bottom. Hope that helps.

I keep getting intermittent paper jams in the back. Not every time, just occasionally. Nothing can be stuck or jammed because I keep getting good copies too.

if you have used the fax a lot or have used a cheaper quality paper the rubber feed rollers are slipping.

Open the unit up and use a bit of isopropyl alcohol on a paper towl and rub or clean the roller. Let dry and close it up again. That usually will clean enough to make it work again. If not the roller may need to be replaced.

Printer won't pick up the paper in the tray to print. Keep getting out of paper message

First check if the feed rollers are 'Slick" with paper dust, if they are ,clean then with 409 on a cloth rag, and scrub till u dont see the white paper dust on the rollers, let the rollers dry, then reset the printer, by turning it off. then turn it back on ,reinstall the paper and begin printing again.

Paper feed not working properly

1. first check to see if there is any bits and pieces of paper in any place in the paper carriage -- look very carefully in front access and rear access
2. if this is not the problem, then disconnect printer from computer -- turn off printer, unplug power cord, unplug printer cable from printer
3. gain access to paper roller assembly, usually in rear
4. using lint free cloth, dampened with distilled water clean rollers -- read manual to determine direction of rotation (usually clockwise)
5. keep rotating rollers until all is wiped clean of paper dust
6. reassumble and try a test print as your printer manual directs

5300 won't load 8 1/2x 11 photo-weight paper.

''grabber'' roller out of work sometimes, you may try
1) there is a input paper sensor around roller, the roller out of runing if the sensor is not senitive enough or sensor switch dirty,
clean the sensor as you can find it,
2) Lighter-weight paper feeds and prints fine, which means this paper input sensor works ok, but you need to make sure they are same paper input sensor,.
3) the paper surface bright and the roller worn could be cause paper feed fail, you need clean the roller anyway. still not fixed, you need to adjust the roller pressure by increase the spring force.`

Pagepro 1350 will not feed paper

I have the same printer and had the same problem.
Cleaned takeup roller wit isopropyl and it has worked now for 18 months. If you dont use it often, remove top sheet from stack and blow the dust off it before printing.

XEROX 8200 PAPER JAMMING

SOund more to me like you have worn out feed wheels. They are slipping when trying to feed, therefore you get a paper jam indication, but no paper has been fed. Check the feed roller texture. If it is slick replace the roller.
I will state that first. You could have a sticking sensor, but that is less likely if you say it feeds paper.
The second most likely problem is the paper feed or paper registration clutch failing. Those are electromechanical clutches that are located on the loerf front section of the frame. You would need to remove the left side cover ( looking from the front). The clutches are round and silver, about an inch and a half thick with black gears on them. If the clutch faces are slipping, the rolllers will not drive and result in a jam.
The more I think about what your describing, the more I believe one of your clutches is bad.

Will not feed paper ,keeps jamming paper

99 times out of 100 this problem is due to a dirty "paper kicker". The material they use is not a very good grade and it picks up dust and paper debris very quickly. Fortunately, it is very easy to clean.

Remove all paper from the feed tray. Open the front door and remove the toner cartridge and the envelope/bypass feeder tray. Look inside the paper feed housing - at the back - dead center. You will see a black roller-type mechanism that looks like it's made of a hard rubber material. This is the thing that needs to be cleaned.

Take a non-paper cloth (no paper towels, tissues, cotton balls, etc.) and dampen it with an extremely diluted cleaner (dish soap works great, just don't use anything with alcohol in it). Mix a little bit of the cleaner with a lot of water, then dampen the cloth. Another thing that works great for this is a pre-moistened cleaning cloth (e.g. Lysol wipes, Clorox wipes, etc.).

Reach back in the housing and wipe down the black roller mechanism a few times. You don't need to scrub it harshly, just use firm pressure to get a good rub down. Rinse your cloth thoroughly with water, squeeze out the excess, and wipe down the roller again to remove any residual cleaner. Now use another dry cloth to remove any excess water.

That should do it. Put the feed tray and toner cartridge back in the unit, load it with paper, and start printing again. Periodic cleaning of the pickup roller should keep your printing working well.
