Player will not play new blue ray discs, only older discs

I suggest that you install the latest firmware update to resolve the issue. Please click here to download the latest firmware update. It is recommended to use CD -R disc to create the firmware update disc. I hope you're clear with downloading the update from support page. Once you download and save the file in the folder in the computer, you can double click the file to extract. You will be prompted to save the UPDATE_BDPS300_VER0550.ISO file in a folder. Most of the customers will be making mistake here after... We need to use a burning software which is capable to burning discs from ISO images. ISO image is nothing but a RAW format of burned image. I will give you the instructions to burn using Nero.. Steps will be almost same in all ISO capable software. Open installed nero software from computer. You may locate it under Start Menu programs. Go to File Menu (Some times you will get a wizard where you can select the Image Burning option or burn ISO option) Navigate the extracted .ISO file we saved in the computer. Follow the onscreen instructions. Insert the disc when ever Nero asked to insert Hope this helps. If you need any assistance. Please get back to me. I will be more than happy to assist you. Thanks for understanding.

Were you upgrading it over the network from the player? If you had network problems you can also download it to your computer nd burn it to a CD. then insert the CD into your player. Will not play blue ray disc

Hi

All u need to do is to visit the manufacturer website, you will see a link "download driver upgrade". Download this upgrade and store it in a flash (if your player has a usb port) or just burn it on an empty CD.

Insert the CD or flash drive into your player, the system recognizes the upgrade and automatically installs it..and you are good to go

Good luck

Gets stuck displayong BD-ROM and won't play

Your Blu-Ray player needs a firmware update from Sony. Here is a link to the page to download the firmware http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=BDPS300&upd_id=4704&os_id=27

You will need to download the firmware and burn the files to a cd-rom disc. First you double click on the downloaded file to extract the files to a folder. Then you will need to use the "burn image" setting in your cd burning software on your computer and burn those files to a cd-r disc. Then when you insert the disc into the Blu-Ray player it will start the update process. DO NOT DISTURB the player when the upgrade is happening and it usually takes about 30 minutes. Periodic upgrades will be needed with the player to be compatible with the new format of Blu-Ray discs. The full instructions are on the web page.

Blue ray player wont play blue ray ''Kung Fu Panda'' disc.

i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.

DVD will not finalize

Bad Disk batch is the most common problem if it is occuring with the same batch of dvds. Other problems could include that you need to get a firmware upgrade for higher speed discs. If you are using a disc that burns faster than the current speed of the machine you need to download the upgrade (follow the directions that are given in most dvd blank packs) and insert the CD that you downlaoded the program onto into the DVD player/recorder.
