SOURCE: Threading & bobbin won't pick up

Make sure the needle is inserted all the way in with the long groove to the left.
Threading is through 1)the thread guide 2)The tension 3)The take up lever 4) The needle eye (left to right).

Remove the needle plate, thread the machine. Turn the hand wheel and watch the thread in the needle to see if it is above the eye of the needle. If it is, the machine needs to be retimed.

SOURCE: Consew 206RB, threading problem?

This machine has a safety clutch which is designed to protect the hook mechanism. To access it, place the machine on it's back. About 8-10 inches from the right side you will see an assembly on the main shaft. You need to hold this assembly with a push button located on the bed of the machine while you turn the handwheel. It will click in place when it is in the correct position. Once you've done this the machine should be back in time so it will sew.Hold the top thread ,turn the handwheel and draw the bottom thread up before you begin sewing. Place a piece of fabric under the foot , turn the wheel by hand to make sure there is no binding and that the thread is being picked up.

SOURCE: Thread loops

Proper set of bobbins and tension set up vs. fabrics will sew you satified. Also incude regular maintenance cleaning of the feeds dogs with a brus, also the shuttle assembly need sometime to clean. Some threads and fabrics chips accumulates in the feed dogs and shuttles assembly. In setting up thread bobbins the thread should be clockwise direction as you pull out on slot coming out to the bobbins (as you shown in my inserted image manual). The loop thread should be propely in the sequence position same like in the image refer to it.If you use cotton/ polyester fabric in the begining of trial set tension dial to No.3 and stich to No. 8 to 12 any convenient to you Use needle No. 14 .Posible make a record if you are sewing different types of fabric mostly silk fabric is hard to sew adjusting to lower stich can posible sew satisfactory.

How do i adjust thread tension on my consew 118 sewing machine? i threaded it and tried sewing some light leather 1-2oz and got a snake nest on the underside instead of a stitch line...what to do?

Sometimes the needle scarf is not large enough to protect the thread as the needle pierces the leather, so the thread is not pulled back up with the needle.

Try different needles and thread.

Also, be sure to thread the upper thread with the presser foot in the raised position so the thread will seat properly in the tension disk. To increase the upper thread tension, turn it toward a higher number and retest.

My consew model 225 just had a new belt and oiled was sewing this morning and last night leather but will not pick up the bobbin thread just poking holes into the leather. Please help

Check bobbin threading and tension. Make sure correct needle is installed and threaded right. Belt and oil have zero to do with the problem.

My top thread keeps snapping on my consew 118. There are loops on the underside when I stitch with it and the thread keeps snapping at the needle. It is threaded right but it keeps happening literally...

The top thread breaks
1. the needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is to tight
3. The needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted
5. The needle thread & the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when starting to sew
6. the threads were not drawn to the rear after sewing
7. The thread is either to heavy or to fine for the needle
8. Try a different spool or cone of thread

Thread looping on the bottom of your fabric can be caused by little or no top tension or too much bobbin tension. Another cause is thread or lint caught in the top tension.
Make sure the thread is between the tension discs and that no thread or lint is caught

I need a manual for a model 230 consew, I recently bought it from a friend, I want to learn how to thread it, and wind my bobbins, can you help me, unable to find one

You can go to the consew official website and download the PDF file for the 210 model. It's the same as the 230 r-1 (which i have). I found this information by calling the consew headquarters. You can also download a PDF with the full parts list for the 230 model specifically. This link may help http://www.consew.com/default.aspx?pageId=4

How to thread

Hi
There are free threading diagrams available here.

I couldn't see your model number listed but have a look at a few of the diagrams for other Consew machines to see if they are similar to your machine.
Hope this helps!
