Question about Toshiba Satellite P205D-S7802 Notebook

1 Answer

I recently did a system restore on my laptop and when I got the PC back up and running, all of my icons were really large. I got all of them back down to normal size but the Log In icon is still really big. How do I get that back to normal?

You will need to change the screen resolution. Right click on the desktop main screen and then click "properties" and then click "settings" Under screen resolution, move the slide bar to 1024 x 768 (you can further increase it as per your requirement) and then press ok. If it does not work, re-install your display video drivers from motherboard CD, Graphic card CD, or download then for free from your computer manufacturer's website.

I reloaded the software onto my laptop but it has left it with a large font and slow how can I wipe it and reload everything onto it?

Large Icon issue might be with the screen resolution.
You need to right click on desktop -> Properties->Settings tab-> and adust screen resolution to 1024x768. Then cllick on apply, now the Icon must be small. If you are unable to adjust the screen resolution, then the issue might be with you video driver. You can downloand the driver on the below link.
http://notebook.driversdown.com/notebook-drivers/s_839_1.shtml

If you wish to restore your computer to previous date, then you need to follow below steps,
start->Accessories->System toos ->Syatem restore
then you need to follow the on screen insruction to restore to the previous date.

Note: This restore will restore only the appalication installed and not the files.
This restore depends upon the restore point created on your system,

Hope this will help you!!!

After login desktop doesn't appear im using

Hello,

It seems you have a virus, where you only see the mouse pointer and no desktop icons nor start bar ?
Please update anti-virus database then run virus scan.

If you are sure you do NOT have a virus, try to do a system restore to a point when you know the laptop was working with desktop available.

For Windows Vista/7, press on start then type in SYSTEM RESTORE, double-click on the icon that comes up, choose "Restore previous point".

Scroll on toucpad not working

Hello,

the update is the cause of the problem. You need to restore your system back to the point when your touch pad was working.

Go to start menu, to Accessories to System tools, to system restore.

Perform the system restore and that should help solve the problem.

Take care.

Running slow - want to restore factory settings

In some cases, when the laptop first starts booting you'll see an option something like 'Press F11 for system restore'. If your laptop doesn't show this option on boot, the only way to reinstall the operating system is with the installation disks. Alternatively, you could scan your computer for viruses, run a disk defragmentation by opening up the 'My Computer' icon, right clicking on your storage drive and selecting 'Properties'. Once in the properties menu select the 'Tools' tab at the top and run the disk defragmentor. If it doesn't run properly, run the 'Error Checking' utility from the same menu.
Also be sure that your hard drive isn't completely full, as Microsoft operating systems use a part of your free space as paging memory.

Laptop stops loading after password screen...

Go back into system restore and restore the system to a previous point. This is most commonly a virus that locks down your icons. If you can get it to restore to a prior point then make sure you run your antivirus scanner and look for viruses and get rid of them. Hope this helps. Thanks!!
