I need a manual for desktop computer (how to build one or the motherboard wiring)

I have a dektop computer that I need a diagram of the motherboard and case connectors, wiring and a manual on how to assemble it. Not sure what kind of computer it is. The motherboard says Quicksilver2-cmt and it has a AMD Athlon XP 1.5 Ghz processor. Please help! Been working on it for weeks

    • Compaq Computer Corp. 41115

Have been looking for a manual, none of the numbers above come up with anything. HP gives another number 262255-001.

My original hard-drive (WD 100 GB) started making noises (hard clicking sounds) replace with WD 500 GB. Discovered power supply was missing 5V, replaced. Computer started up fine, attemted to retrive data from old drive, during this process old drive disappeared. Removed old drive. Ever since when I start my computer I get a No Operating System found. If I press ctl, alt, delete several times it will start up. I was told that it could be the motherboard not making POST and would like to be able to test the motherboard for this. Have spent weeks looking for information but sites want other information I cannot find on motherboard & BIOS. Every attempt to locate BIOS fails. Even tried restarting to see info at start-up but all that shows up is Compaq on the screen. Frustrating and have other things to do than spend hours looking for info and not find what I need.

    Thanks, MWilliams

To contact Quicksilver go here: http://quicksilvercs.com/
There is no search site for quicksilver.
You need to take a close look at the motherboard. There you should be able to see the model number. Usually that is found in-between the PCI slots. See if you can copy the name & numbers off any black in color chips soldered to the board.
Go here as well & see if any of this looks like what you have. Anything that has a camra icon will open a picture.

Lastly tale a look at this board... Look like your board?

This motherboard is made by FIC. However, FIC this is an OEM Board made for Compaq, they do not support OEM Boards. Here is a link to their motherboard support page. They probably have a board that is close to that, so you still may be able to assemble it using a similar board type.

Aspire 750 CPU case button destroyed.

I'm not overly familiar with this model...but assuming its a desktop, try this. Open the side panel on the case and try to find the back of the power button. If you can find it, and there are two wires that come directly from the back of said button, follow those two wires to where they connect to the motherboard. If they run into something else or there are more than two wires connecting to said power button, you may be out of luck and need to get a hold of a new button before you can turn it back on.

I take no responsibility for any slips and mistakes you should make doing the following, do so at your own discretion and beware of possible damage to yourself or your computer.

I used to work in a shop, and when ever we'd get a desktop with a bad power button, we'd turn it on by opening the tower, tracing the wires from the power button to the two pins on the motherboard said wires plug into, unplugging said wires, and shorting the two pins on the motherboard together for half a second with a screw driver. Naturally, I'll tell you to be careful doing this. I'm not responsible if you short the wrong pins and a)fry your computer or b) fry yourself.

Hope that helps and good luck!

I have a new pc case on the front panel connectors their is one hdd led +- and one hdd led plug were do they go my case is a EVO LABS E-6690 BLACK/RED, 12CM LED FAN, INC DOOR AND SIDE WINDOW my mother...

You need to look in the handbook that cam with your motherboard for a section labeled 'Connectors' or possibly 'Connections'. There will be one USB 2.0 type prong on the motherboard that is designated for case connections [Power LED, mini-speaker, etc.]. The manual for the motherboard will indicate what order and where on the motherboard your connectors should go.
Good luck with your build. :]

Wiring manual for a thermalrock oceandome

Go here for complete motherboard support : http://support.asus.com/download/download_item.aspx?product=1&model=P4P800-E%20Deluxe Click on the + next to manual and it will take you here : http://support.asus.com/download/download_item.aspx?product=1&model=P4P800-E%20Deluxe  . Scroll down near the bottom of page to this copy : 'P4P800-E Deluxe User's manual for English Version E1867". Download a copy of the PDF file to file for reference.  I checked this manual and it has all the information you need, but you will have to quietly study it, and then print or  take down all the required information you need on paper, as you will have to turn off tthe PC and power to make all the wiring connections to the motherboard. Cheers,  geonz72.

Computer Case ULT33180 Powers down about 4 seconds after started

Ive done something similar, I took the CMOS battery off the motherboard and put it back in after about a minute to reset the bios. Unplugged the power supply from the motherboard and flipped the power switch on the back of the power supply (on and off a few times) and plugged the power connector back onto the motherboard. I know it sounds like an odd way of fixing this problem but has worked for me.

Front panel audio connection to asus pk5 se mobo

Hi Tracybow,

The Front Panel Audio connection should have a couple of wires to plug in into your MotherBoard. Usually, the connectors are named and all you need to know is the exact location in your MotherBoard.
I would suggest you to visit your MotherBoard manufacturer and download the manual for your MoBo. You will find in the manual a diagram of the MotherBoard which shows the location for those wires.

Hope this helps.

Best regards
Eduardo

To fix front usb and audio to the mother board

Consult the user manual for the motherboard. It should have a layout diagram showing all connections. Or go online to manufacturer's website and download the user manual there. Also, using a bright light and magnifier you may be able to read the small print on the motherboard by the connectors.
