Question about Compaq Presario CQ60-220US PC Laptop
The first thing you have to do is make sure your charger does not have a short in it. then blow out the charger slot. plug in your cord and check to see if the charge symble is on if it is not on then you need a new charger cord. if it is on wait for about a half hour checking periodicaly to see if it is still charging. try to turn it on if it does not work you need to replace your battery do not buy a new laptop this is a fixable problem

Remove battery and try without battery. Then remove hard drive and try it, then remove ram and try, then remove optical drive and try. This assumes of course you've tried it with a known good ac adapter.
if batt, ram, hdd, cmos, kb, optical drive are removed and still no power than you are looking at mobo/cpu issue...could be loose at ac port, could be fried mobo

Same thing happened to me with the same computer. I just took the battery out for a few minutes, put it back in and it came on...
