Question about RCA P52926 52" Rear Projection Television
The clicking noise is caused by the relay. This is a fail safe to prevent possible fire in the unit. It is heat sensitive and detects some overheating component or short circuit. You may find damage on one of the Sustain or power boards is causing this to occur. It is NOT a DIY unless you can rtead a circuit diagram and understand electronics. It is not a case of being a board swap jockey like working on a PC. Any change of boards or components requires aq retuning using a cross pattern generator ( sometimes buoilt in to the TV in the service access area) Many on here try and do it on the cheap and end up spending much more than the service call in an attempt to save a few $. Very few succeed and if they do the fix is short lived..
Conservative estimate for fiz is $3-400. Unless its a warranty claim.
