Remove the six screws on the back cover. After the batteries are installed you need to reset the board. There is a little reset area that needs to be shorted to get the calculator back to normal. Look closely at the circuit board- You'll see a little circle next to the word reset. Its near the middle of the board. Wet your finger- press it on the circle. It should short. Blow it dry with your breath. It should work...

What you can do is reset it and it shouldent show up anymore, to reset there should be a button in the back and you could just use a paper clip to do it.

In the left corner of my screen, there is a symbol marked M2. How do I get rid of it?

This is telling you that memory register 2 contains a nonzero value. To clear the indicator, simply store zero into register 2 by pressing 0 STO 2.

The machine has three storage registers numbered 1, 2, and 3. You can clear all three of them by pressing ON/AC.

I have the symbols M1, M2, and M3 on my top left corner of my calculator. How do I remove them?

They're telling you that you have non-zero values stored in M1, M2, and M3. To clear any one of them, store 0 in it by pressing 0 n where n is 1, 2, or 3. To clear all three of them at once, press ON/AC.

How to clear the memory key on Texas instrument scientific calculator TI 30XA or use the memory key

Hello,
Your calculator has 3 memories (M1, M2,M3)
To store the number 170 in M1 use 170[STO]1
To recall a number from M1 use [RCL]1
To add a number to the content of M1 [2nd][SUM]1 (adds displayed value to contents of M1).
[2nd][EXC] 2 exchanges the value already displayed with the contents of M2:

To erase (clear) a memory register, just store 0 in it.

Hope it helps.

How do I earase the M2 button that is always on my screen?

Clear the display so that zero shows, then press STO M2 to store zero in the M2 registry. Any time there is a non-zero number stored in M1, M2 or M3, you will see those memories in the display to remind you there's something stored. There is no "clear memory" function on the TI-30XA, you have to store zero in the memory to clear M1, M2 or M3 from the display.
