When i press the power putton the light stays on along with the wireless indicator light but it does not boot. nothing is heard( no sound) the screen stays off. similar to putting on the power with the lid closed.

This is likely to be as a result of your processor over-heating, maybe because of your environment, or because the fan is not cooling the processor properly again.
Therefore my suggestion would be for you to unscrew your laptop (If you can do it by yourself), and try to clean it.
If you can't do it by yourself, you can easily get a technician to do it for you.
Also, remove all your RAM(Memory Sticks), and clean the tip of the connector with an eraser, and re-insert it one after the other.
That is, if you have two of them, after you insert the first one, put on your system and see if it works, then do the same thing with the other one.
If the two of them works, them insert the them all. but if it is just one that worked, just remove the other one that is not working and replace it.
Then always make sure that your laptop is in a well ventilated, cool environment and that the environment is free from dusts.
