Hi, HP Pavilion DV6000 Notebook main problem's are Power Problem, Vista Error etc.. For these problems you can visit a link by just Click Here . For any other problems with this Notebook you can Click Here
My t40 would not start. no hard disk light. all other lights worked. fan worked and CD ROM worked.........no beep.
SOLUTION: the built in DIMM was faulty...downloaded a t40 manual from retrevo that shows which four screws to remove from back to release the key board to access the built in SIMM ...removed the SIMM and inserted the SIMM from the upgraded SIMM slot which is easy access on the back (one screw)....the t40 recovered and am using it for this post...the four screws are located one near each side of the easy access SIMM upgrade cover on back and two about three inches under the easy access upgrade SIMM cover and they are marked with a key board icon...the key board is pushed towards the screen with a finger on the plastic that surrounds the power on button under the power on button....this will release the key board which is easly unpluged and removed to reveal the built in SIMM.....if you do not have a upgrade SIMM in the upgrade slot or it also is faulty you may need a new SIMM....this is now using 512 MB SIMM which was what it came with new and is ready for a upgrade now tht slot is empty.....512MB of SIMM cost about $28.00........or you can upgrade and get more SIMM at more cost..........try removing the SIMM in the upgrade slot first (if you have one in that slot) before removing the built in SIMM........ GOOD LUCK.......dwayne

Looks like an issue with either display or system is overheating. Please try the below steps.
1. Shut down the computer 2. Keep on tapping F8 key as us press the Power button to turn on the computer. 3. Choose safe mode using the arrow keys on the keyboard and hit Enter Key 4. Stay on the safe mode to see if the screen is going blank, if not 5. A system restore should help to fix the issue. Let me know!
do static discharge
disconnect battery and all peripherals. disconnect from mains. press power button and hold for 30 sec.
Connect to mains and try to turn on again
If it will not start - mainboard needs replacement
if you press and hold the button fifteen seconds it will go off. make sure that the little tiny button above the keyboard is out. its like the button in a refridgerator that makes the light go off, and if its stuck in the screen will be blank. this is common in tosh.
press the fn key on laptop hold it down and then press the power key on the laptop. once u see any display on the screen you will get some tests running on the screen. The system will show you the error message which u need to note down. else you can do a Flea Power on your laptop. Remove the adapter and the battery and then press the power button and hold it down for 30 seconds then connect the battery and adapter back and try to turn on the laptop. See if the magic works for you
IBM laptops generally comes with protection mechanism to stop the harddrive if the laptop experieces heavy vibrations or shocks. This is to avoid any possible impact to the hard disk and its data. But this sometimes freezes the Laptop. The screen may be blank because you might have pressed a combination of Fn and F3 which will switch off the screen. Try to press the same combination to bring the screen back up.
