  • hergs Feb 07, 2010

Thanks. There was only installation instructions only. I will down load a manual and try the bulb reset.

According to the manual there is no reset for the lamp it detects the life of the lamp.pushing any of the buttons does nothing either.

    Hi,

Normally you will find the instructions for the timer reset in the box from the new bulb.

Often its a combination of some switches which you have to hold while starting up.

Others projectors you have to reset in the menu.

Most projectors can be reset without remote control.

    Regards,

Ok, please do clean the airfilter in the projector also.

The timer reset can also be found in the operating manual, please check the menu of the projector.

Panasonic DLP TV Bulbs

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

TY-LA1001 Timer reset

While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.

I can't get my tv to turn on. I turn it on and the green light comes on 3 times and the light only stays on for 3 seconds and then turns off. Can't get anything to happen with screen. Can you help me

Does it sound like it's coming on then powers down? Mine turned out to be the bulb. I bought a bulb on Ebay for less than $90.00 and installed it myself.

The bulb was inside a square metal housing, pull housing and bulb out of tv, replace the bulb reusing the existing housing, then replace..... Pretty easy fix, and I'm not all that mechanically inclined. Good luck!

Wont turn on

I'll quote GBATemp here:

symptom:
the ds lite powers up for a brief instant, but then shuts off
potential solution:
disassemble the lower shell and check the connections of upper and lower displays (all three flexible cable connections).

Panasonic TY-LA1000 has good lamp, but black screen. light is blinking green, then solid green, then after some time goes red?

We have a PT-50LC14. We replaced the lamp 6 months ago with a TY-LA1000 bulb we bought from a company online (not directly from Panasonic) and it worked for 6 months. Then the TV started turning off on it's own...sometimes it would not come back on for an hour or so. We called the lamp company and we luckily had 1 day left on our 6 month warranty!! They sent us a replacement bulb and the TV would never power on. It would try to power up, but the bulb would never ignite. The power light would flash and then the lamp light would flash every 5 seconds. I had a friend that has the same type of TV and she ordered her bulb directly from Panasonic. I borrowed her lamp and it powered right up. We then called the online company and they sent us yet another replacement bulb, and I tried it today and it works. It seems like these TVs are very particular about the type of bulb used. Next time, we will be ordering ours directly from Panasonic and just paying the extra $100. We have been without our big screen for 2 very long months! I had called a local tv repair shop, called Panasonic directly, and read through countless internet forums, and I thought we were going to have to replace the ballast or get a ballast repair kit and start messing with the circuit board.
