My 2003 Chrysler Sebring is overheating. A mechanic friend of mine is trying to teach me how to work on cars, and we redid the head gasket and ran into many issues, and this problem is our final barrier...

The ECM doesn't read the temps. it only takes the readings from the sensors and tries to adjust within given parameters. You has a coolant sensor on the car you have a temp sensor on the car. Check the wiring, make sure you didn't plug the wrong wire to the wrong sensor. Check to make sure everything is actually plugged in and getting power. It's definitely either bad wiring or a bad temp sensor.

Honeywell Thermostat RTH6350 makes heat run in AC mode after AC runs

Well, if it wasn't doing that before then you more than likely know its in your wiring. Cools down then heats back up sounds like the auto change over is on, and the heat setting is higher than the cool setting?

Frig stops cooling. freezer on bottom. frig is running just not cooling. made in 2008. we clean it let it set for 24 hr it cools again. is there a defrost heater that we can turn on, to solve this problem.

Hi, this model i believe has a calrod heater, and those usually dont go bad very often, its more than likely a bad defrost thermostat or control board, the thermostat is located in the freezer behind the back panel on the evaporator, the control board if it has one is going to be up in the control panel by the the thermostat, if it doesnt have a control board it will have a timer, I would change the timer and the thermostat in that case. It is also possible you have a bad heater which is also located in the freezer behind the back panel, under the evaporator, If you know how to use a meter you check this heater with an ohm meter. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Old thermostat wiring doesnt match up with new thermostat

Look at the instuction booklet (or on the T-stat board) for a switch for the reversing valve.

Some systems reversing valves are in cooling mode when energised, some are in cooling mode when NOT energised.
You are looking for the switch (Usually very tiny, or a different jumper setting) that will change the position of the reversing valve when calling for heat/AC.

This is not a switch like the typical "ON OFF AUTO, HEAT COOL EMG HT switches. It will be on the board itself or the back of the T-stat.

What's the deal? Wont shut off or respond to thermostat. . .

Red= power........White=heat.............Green=fan.................(grey)-(yellow)=cool .....these are the connectons. Disconnect these wires from the thermostat and know that red/power is the only wire that send power to the thermostat, and the rest sends it back to the unit to call for whatever,, red--to . white for heat... red to green for fan .... &red to grey for cool! OK! Turn all your power on, and use a jumper wire from red / green for fan and see if the fan comes on! Then move the jumper wire from red to green , to red / to white for heat and the fan , wait for 3 minutes before removing and going to the next step. Then red /to grey for cool and check if the outside comes on. Either you have a wire touching past the insulations and making a connection, a bad thermostat ,oe excessive wire lead touching the next connection.Thank you very much!
